Hello.
Right now I use:
ash tail cap
ash tail coat
vile striker
horned owlite shield
gigawatt pulsar

Now I have a dilemma, after the PSW I manage to to save up some CR and bought new recepies like faust, tempered/ascendance calibur and dark thorn shield. The problem is that I can't decide if I should upgrade my current eq to 5* or craft new 4* weapons. I prefer doing JK runs than going on T3. What do you think I should do ?

when i was doing jelly runs,

when i was doing jelly runs, jelly gear came first, acheron/vile striker/faust/BTShield, you dont wanna rely on others to bring the gear or rely on finding the potions~, this way you can do the runs for DA/AP much easier...

As long as you stay in tier

As long as you stay in tier 2, you should craft for functionality; the raw stats of gear barely change in tier 2 betwee 4* and 5*.

Of what you have, that basically just means your ash tail armor - you can further upgrade the damage bonus, or swap it for a speed bonus; the latter is preferable by far in tier 3 because of the defense types on the Vog Cub armor. You won't need the speed bonus til you get a slower sword, but you WILL need the elemental and fire defense of Vog Cub armor in FSC, until you're used to the place.

Nothing else you're wearing gets a significant change from 4* to 5*, unless the Pulsar's blast radius expands again from 4* to 5* (As you may have noticed it did from 3* to 4* - I just haven't upgraded mine to 5* to know yet myself)

Because the only thing you have that's worth upgrading is your armor (and again, it won't affect you much in tier 2 yet), go ahead and get new stuff til you're done in tier 2. Definitely get something ready to replace that Vile Striker - you won't be using it much once you're done with JK. As long as you're only doing tier 2 runs, you won't be finding 5* recipes, and you can save a few thousand crowns per recipe if you wait til you find them at Basil in tier 3, so that's another reason to get more 4* stuff first.

The right four star tool for

The right four star tool for the job works better than the wrong five star tool. I'd recommend getting two swords of different damage types, two guns of different damage types, a bomb, and an armor, helmet and shield that defends against each damage type (that is, piercing, elemental, and shadow) before upgrading anything to five stars. Get that at four stars and you're viable all the way to the core. Try to use, say, vog cub against mobs that do pure shadow damage and it won't protect you any better than zero star gear.

Unless you wanna go Skolver,

Unless you wanna go Skolver, don't upgrade to Vog (yet) if you are planning to stay in JK for a while because you will lose your piercing defense vs the jellies. (Alternatively, you can buy a new Dusker Set and upgrade it to Vog, keeping your Ash Tail intact... it could be expensive, though.)

Maybe Calibur to 4* once you are planning to drop your Striker. I don't see the point in having 2 normal damage weapons unless they're of different types...

You may consider also a bomb as a third weapon to complement JK runs or in case of arenas. Try shivermist series.
