Like with my other games, I am intrested in the lore of the games I play, so can someone give me a quick rundown on the "story" behind Spiral Knights?
I understand the knight is trapped there because skylark crashed, but what happened before? What happened after?

I think my post pretty much sums it up.
there isn't much of one for now, but I've noticed an occurring trend in SK - which I'm pretty sure had a topic about it at some point.
There's a recurring pattern of single eyes.
There's the graviton bomb, which has a single eye with swerved lines on the edges, There's a single eye on the sealed sword brands until their last upgrades, the danger indicator has an eye with swerved edges at max, the totems/ statues one carries around to activate buttons is a being that has one eye with swerved edges - and also looks like it's carrying a troika, as well as it having spikes on its head like the graviton bomb - and so on so forth. there's a few more "Eye" instances I believe, but yeah.

Vanaduke was once a king in one of three kingdoms on the surface of cradle (the planet). The three kingdoms where at war, and Vana was loosing.
He pleed for help from what we belive is Vog (a fiery deamon), and he bacame what he is now, and totaly destroyed EVERYTHING!!
Hes people turned Undead.
The Gremlin king Tinkinzar ordered his Elit group the Crimson Order, to have the Gremlins to Build the clockworks.. All the "worlds" in the clockworks have been brought down from the surface by the Gremlins.
The Skylark flyes over the cradle, the planet looks like a patchwork.
Later the skylark crashes on the surface. Command sets up a rescue camp. The alpha squad is first to explore the planet, they find the clockworks and command makes a base of operations in Haven. The alpha squad explores the clockworks and find all the bosses and leaves small reports by each boss, then gets traped in the core, after they told command about the enomous amount of energy that rests in the core.
That energy can be used to repair the Skylark, so we want it!
Then the game starts with us coming out our escape pods!
I dont know about before, [i think they got shot down or something] but about after, they set up haven with the help of the strangers on the surface of the planet, theres supposed to be a major power surge in the core so the knights are trying to get into the core. It is further elaborated in the alpha squad artifacts you find after defeating a boss, its also explained that the core is sealed when you reach it but that alpha squad had managed to enter it and the knights are trying to find a way in, the captain then tells you to gather minerals to feed the gates as they want to see what it does to the core. The story ends there for now. [questions?]
