If you suck up monster in a vortex, then freeze them while in the vortex, do they still get spit out by the vortex?
Vortex Bombs
> They're okay, but a little sucky
i think you mean, they're not sucky ENOUGH ;)
hahaha, oh, you!
yes, exactly. I've never used the charge, but I've owned and used the bomb, and I'm assuming the charge is worse than the bomb. The reason they're worse is precisely what Ben said: they aren't sucky enough. The radius you see on the bomb when you plant it is the farthest reach of the pull; on the vortex, it's far more substantial and extends far beyond the radius line. Other than suction size and slightly more shadow damage, there's no difference between the vortex and its counterparts, but you'd be surprised just how huge a difference the pull radius makes.
@shrinkshootr
Do you have any ctr on that bomb or glacius?
Because my glacius and vortex charge time are a little slow for my liking.
I have no CTR on either of my weapons, and while it is feasible to use a brandish line medium charge (heat level 10) on mobs trapped in a graviton bomb, you have a pretty small window of opportunity, so you need great timing. Once you get it down it's usually not a problem. The grav vortex, on the other hand, has an extra second of pull, giving you a much wider window for striking with a charge and granting far more leniency.
If these really do bother you enough, you can choose to do what I'm doing: bomber line and trinkets. With two medium CTR trinkets, I will have a maximum CTR on my level 10 glacius; with the mad bomber suit and the volcanic or mad bomber helm (each of these three items grants a medium CTR bonus for bombs), you will have a maximum CTR on your bomb as well.
It's a bit expensive, and I'm currently only halfway to my bomber set, and haven't started on the trinkets; but if you use both the bomber set listed above with the grav vortex and the trinkets with a 5* brandish line, you will undoubtedly have one of the best, if not THE best, crowd control setup in the entire game. You'll be able to deploy grav vortex bombs and unleash brandish charges left and right, and this is invaluable in arenas, jelly palace, and danger rooms...basically, anywhere you get crap tons of cash, you get crap tons of enemies, and people will bow to your power when you round them all up and repeatedly unleash destruction on them.
No, the final explosion breaks the ice and allows them to move, but keeps them where they are. For large mobs, this is not important, because a large mob is kept locked in place even after the final explosion; if there are enough enemies in the center, the explosion deals damage but there is zero knockback.
I love the Graviton vortex; it is seriously one of the most useful tools in the game. Combined with ash of agni, combuster, voltedge or glacius (especially glacius), you have incredible crowd control. Can't tell you how many times people ingame have commented on how amazing my ability to direct mobs is with a vortex and a glacius. Some people will try and convince you they suck, but they're just very wrong.
However, worth noting: the grav charge and bomb are a joke. They're okay, but a little sucky. Once you make the leap to vortex, though, it's insane.
