That we can pay a few crowns for a lever to force the Elevator Gate levels to change? I sat for 15 minutes waiting for a Fiend strata to change, I would have easily paid a few crowns to force it!

Yes!
For clarity, I believe the idea is to have a lever by the elevator at the end of a depth that would allow a player to spend some small amount of crowns (or energy, shudder) to re-roll which level they will travel to from the choices for the next depth.
I wholeheartedly support this idea. People are usually willing to stand around and wait for more enjoyable/profitable levels anyway. This idea alleviates that boring wait time and the annoyance of joining a group which is waiting, while adding another crown/energy sink and allowing us to burn through our energy faster. Seems like a win-win to me.

While waiting is a legitimate tactic, I'm fairly certain that OOO would rather we just accept what level we're going to fight next and go with it. Putting this in would indeed make a crown pool, though would actually increase the revenue of players who formerly just accepted the levels they were going to, as they would now decide to hit every arena.
