Why make it so hard to transfer crafted items?

After the levels of heat and mats and the time it takes to craft a 4 or 5 star item, the unbinding cost jumps so dramaticly that it cost more than ten dollars in crystal energy to trade , sell, or give away a single 4 or 5 star item?

I would like it if they would use the pay ratio they started with of 200 crystal energy per star.
Which isn't that bad, but at 4 and 5 star they go off the scale and i think that's just a bit greedy.

It's sad to because i would play more if i had another activity for my knights.
Instead of adventuring i would log in and make items and play the auction house all the times i didn't have enough time to go down into the clockworks.

If they won't consider scaling down the price. How about a different form of payment? Tokens? crowns? random mats? combonation of all?

this issue stretches back to

this issue stretches back to before 5/17 where players manufactured high end gear for selling and trading, which was pretty much end game at the time. OOO wants you to play and gain the gear yourself, causing you to take the long road and play for a lot longer so they can make more content. Hence the high cost of unbinding, it deter players from using it without restricting it entirely.

If it were to be scaled down, more players would produce more high end gear, and more gear would flood the market, and more players would reach end game faster than OOO can crank out content. it's kinda like drinking salt water.

with so much to do in this

with so much to do in this game i find it hard to see people quitting after they have beat the game. I'm almost done with my first 5 star set and have allready been working on my next set. once i get both of those sets i will probably be working on a third.

I do see where you are coming from though making it too easy would dilute the quality of those items. However i would like to be able to do more with my crafted high star items other than just having a large collection.

And i still think 1800 and 4000 CE for 4 and 5 star items is just bonkers. because that's after you have already put so much into it

some people have been playing

some people have been playing a lot longer than both of us they have everything this game has and only play it for fun, friends, or stocking up for the next update

However i would like to be able to do more with my crafted high star items other than just having a large collection.

what does this suppose to mean? what other possible thing could you do with crafted items but sell or give to friends/guildmates?

They also don't want the

They also don't want the market flooded with old gear from people who have quit the game, so that no CE gets used by new players.

World of Warcraft features

World of Warcraft features bound gear and there's no way for you to remove it once you have equipped it. At least in Spiral Knights there's a way out even if it's way expensive.

The reason for bound items is to stem the supply factor and keep prices high. In WoW, high grade rare "purple" stuff is still expensive if it dropped. If people we allowed to remove and resell gear after use easily, the prices would drop and gold would devalue, plus crafting professions would soon be largely useless. And as previously mentioned, low cost gear allows players to advance to the end game too quickly.

But then again WoW has more frequent equipment drops than SK, so please take my statement with a grain of ionized salt bomb.

Unbinding = Good to be available.

It is true that at least in Spiral Knights there is a method to unbind bound items. It seems rarely to me that the items I wish to unbind be other than 2 or 3 star items so the cost is not that big. Personally I want to keep all 4 and 5 star items because they are simply the best. Then I would help others to achieve them by attending raids etc.

What I would hope thou is that the crystal energy gets a little devaluation because the cost of 100 ce is totally of the scale in crowns. It still goes higher even at the moment we speak/write here and that is something insanely difficult to digest and which I just can't come to recognize.

This cost was already 5k a week ago and before that I have heard and read about the time it were just 4k. During my time of play it has gone from 4800 to 5390 in just two weeks! Either there are people who don't understand how things work or they are just plain greedy or both. I guess the last one. In case the real reason is just greed then with all the love in the world and all do respect toward you people - have a heart.

Best of Day! O(^_^)O

So True

The Unbinding costs are a rip off...
4000CE for a 5* item come on, greedy.
And token items shouldn't be bound upon purchase.

thats a one sided view they

thats a one sided view

they dont want you to unbind items and if token items werent bound all that would happen is people would sell them making boss runs meaningless. at least the way it is u have a hurdle to overcome to do it
