Hi,
While I play, download or update Spiral Knights my anti-virus picks up these .dll viruses

Jinput-dx8.dll
Jinput-raw.dll

Tell me what does this mean, is it a real virus and most importantly is it dangerous and how do I stop it.using R
By the way I am using Rising Anti-Virus.

i know dll means Dynamic

i know dll means Dynamic link library

DLLs provide a mechanism for shared code and data, allowing a developer of shared code/data to upgrade functionality without requiring applications to be re-linked or re-compiled

i just think ur anti virus is freaking out over nothing

1. This is not a forum for

1. This is not a forum for your antivirus. It is a forum for general discussion about the game Spiral Knights.
2. It is likely your antivirus is finding a false positive in those files.
3. If you are infected then good job. I have no idea how to fix that.

You could always try

You could always try Quarantining the items, then asking Steam (assuming you're using Steam) to verify the game files. If it downloads those files again, they've got to be false-positives. Just tell your Antivirus to ignore them in that case.

How do I verify Steam?

IF you're using Steam:

IF you're using Steam:

Right-click Spiral Knights in the Library list

Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache

This is used for replacing missing or corrupt files. My suggestion was to try allowing your Antivirus to quarantine the files, if you really think they may be infected, then ask Steam to replace the files with Verify. You could try Verify before you Quarantine, but I seriously doubt it will fix the problem.

If the new files are still flagged by your Antivirus, it's probably a false alarm and you can tell it to ignore it. Most Antivrus programs give you the ability to exempt folders or files from scanning.

Love how helpful Dirt always

Love how helpful Dirt always is:"wrong place, not my problem, but I post to scold you and mention your at the wrong place. Ballz!". Thanks forums cop!

And about those 2 files, they seem most likely to be game system files. Antiviruses always make major freakouts for nothing.

Considering a Google search

Considering a Google search pulls up nothing on either file you listed as being viruses I would say it is indeed a false positive. In fact, the only thing a Google search pulls up is information about 3D games.

@Thoran:
I pointed out that there probably wouldn't be much help offered here (which so far has been true) and even why it might be doing that. Stop the hate.
