I am guessing that people are bying less CE with real money now that the last major updates are already more than a week past.
It is simply that when people buy less CE with money, they tend to sell it less often for crowns and that raises the price.
EDIT: also the above is a good explanation. Probably a bit of both at the same time.

That sounds about right. I figured the last update would provide a quick drop first though, since I expected a fair bit of people to get the battle pack. Then again, those new trinkets are CE shredders. Selling mod calibrators to endorse that kinda bit me in the butt.

Ahh. I honestly can't remember. I do recall it being 7k though.
Hypothesis: People played many levels during the Power Surge Weekend, spending only half the energy needed. They earned quite some Crown doing that, allowing them to buy CE for that. Since there are more Crowns in the market than usual because of this, CE became more expensive.
