gunner armor?

Okay - I've posted a lot of questions here on equips, here is a new one ^_^

Previously in SK I found that there really weren't any uv's for guns that had a meaningful impact... gun damage, attack speed, charge time... all pretty blah. Armors didn't have any good options either, with a damage vs undead medium, and a general damage low...

Anyway so now we have the krog coins so I can get 2x medium gun damage trinkets stacking for some decent damage bonus (still sucks compared to others, but it's MUCH better than before.) With these I'm looking at other changes in my arsenal...

Current equips -
Mad Bomber helmet,
Volcanic Bomber armor,
Grey Owlite shield,
low bomb charge time trinket
medium gun damage trinket

weapons are:
Polaris, Magnus, Umbra, Shivermist, Ashe of Agni, and Voltaic.

(bomb ctr max, gun damage medium)

I use bombs and guns equally as much. I use the bombs either for status or to handle large amounts of mobs, with guns doing more direct damage to few targets.

Here is what I'm considering -

Mad Bombers helm + Armor
2x medium gun damage trinkets
(bomb ctr max, gun damage vh)

OR

Shadowsun helm + armor
2x medium gun damage trinkets
(bomb ctr vh, gun damage max)

OR

Deadshot helm + armor
2x medium gun damage trinkets
(bomb ctr vh, gun damage vh, gun damage vs undead vh)

In addition to these options - any other options you think could help are appreciated.

On your last set, two things

On your last set, two things - deadshot's bonus isn't handgun specific as far as the wiki's concerned. Also, you seem to be incorrectly stacking the effects - gun damage would be applied first, then the undead bonus would cap out at maximum (ignoring half of the bonus). You'd still have vh to undead with bombs, though.

Maybe you could consider volcanic demo armor + helm + 2 gun damage trinkets - it'd total at 5 levels of ctr bonus on your bombs and v.high damage for your guns. None of your bombs are the type that benefit much from a damage bonus, as it only affects their detonation damage - this would let you drop the mad bomber armor. Volcanic demo doesn't have the weaknesses and instead has a fire resistance, so it's a big step up defensively, and you can try for CTR low UVs on your bombs if you want to get max CTR on them.

(Volcanic demo helm = 2 CTR + Suit = 1 CTR + level 10 heat = 2 CTR, total 5 - just a low UV is enough to max it per bomb.)

Trying to max your gun damage is a bad idea, simply because it's only possible with the shadowsun armor, which has a lot of drawbacks - piercing defense, and negative resistance to two statuses. Getting very high from trinkets is enough, you don't need gun specific armor.

I don't think the status

I don't think the status penalties on Shadowsun set are very problematic. Poison can be annoying, but since it adds no damage, and doesn't hinder dodging, it really just makes a room take longer. Curse only comes from Faust and red demons in graveyards, since I don't use Faust, and rarely have trouble with graveyard demons (shivermist, polaris, voltaic) curse resist rarely comes into play. Having only pierce resist is a pretty good point though, my biggest problems in the game when it comes to damage are the slegs and fiends, so I'd actually prefer shadow resist over anything :\

I didn't realize that damage bonus uv's were added together. Having vh gun damage and vh undead damage is totally impractical with this setup...

Thanks for your input - still going over the options...

idk if I like doing 2x volcanic, as I get (imo) way too much fire resist, and only elemental defense... Shadow is definitely my most important defense.

If you got natural your attack bonus on max, any uv's you get on your weapons are useless. Also to sacrifice an ASI of very high for a DMGBonus of medium ... it depends on the weapons you use. If you use Alchemer, the ASI is a waste, if you use Polaris or Biohazard, you should go for Nameless with 2 Tinkers for DMG Medium. So you reach very high at speed and dmg.

Attack Speed does decrease the time between shot and decreases the time to grab a weapon and bring it back to normal position. How ever it does NOT decrease the reload time.

If you use Polaris or Biohazard, you mustn't shot 3 times. If you do so, he will reload what takes time and is a waste for ASI. Just do 2 shots, then wait up to the time the gun is in normal position (what goes pretty fast with ASI) and then you can shot 2 more times again and again and again and...

1. you do much more damage than just spam
2. you allways can stop shooting and run faster
3. you allways can stop shooting and block without getting interrupted by reload
4. you can laught about guys who cry about asi in some gunslinger whine tread :D
