BLAST NETWORK: Please do something about "[redacted]"

I'm sure that anyone who clicked this thread that wasn't curious about what exactly I meant is already well aware of a couple users in Blast Network who have still managed to pull off botting tactics despite the new patch (which, by the way, I highly commend OOO for; the number of afk people has just about dropped to 0% after its induction, and battles actually are fun now!).

However, one particular user, "[redacted]", seems to have bypassed this and continues to gain rank and coins from what could only be botting. I speak not for myself in this - I've had numerous encounters in FFA where people have made remarks about [redacted]' presence without my saying anything, and his scores/behavior consistently suggest the use of a bot or similar program.

Normally, I would just file a complaint and be done with it. However, I continue to notice his rank rising... and rising... and rising still. And fast approaching my own at this point, despite my best efforts to play consistently.

I know this seems selfish, but can we please do something to prevent him continuing before a botter once again takes the 1st place slot for the week's end, AND above someone who is legitimately playing and earning that spot on a regular basis? It would be severely disheartening to put that much effort into achieving something like this only to have it squashed by someone who managed to 'beat the system'.

The evidence and complaints are overwhelming. Please do something about [redacted].

Thank you.

(See you in the Blast Network! :D)

GM EDIT: Please do not participate in name and shame threads. This violates our forum guidelines. Reporting in-game is the proper avenue.

Awwwww maaaaan!

WHY!?!?! I SUCK at blast network! My first kill was a TEAM KILL! WHY!?!?!? WHY IS EVERYONE SO PRO!?!?!?!

/cries pathetically...

Hackers and botters are annoying, REALLY annoying, especially in FPS games. How do you bot BN? I would have no clue...

Not that I even know HOW to bot, I just mean logically speaking, how would it work? I mean in FPS, bots usually mean that no matter how bad your aim is you could get every shot a headshot. I find it kinda hard to understand how bots would help in BN.

Anyway, if he's a botter, something needs to done. If not, then he's all good and you got yourself some serious competition.

Don't get me wrong, I just want to remain impartial while supporting the idea to get rid of botters.

Maybe the rest of us just suck? ^_-

Valk, the fact is that the

Valk, the fact is that the Ranking System as it is is really based more on time spent than on matches won. Even the lowest placing people, with enough kills or points, will get something like 24-36 Rank Points per match against 7 other people.

Thus, it's entirely possible for a person with a program that auto-runs their character to rocket up the ranks simply by doing BN matches AS MUCH AS FEASIBLY POSSIBLE. This allows a 24/7 period of Rank Point earning instead of being limited to hours a person would normally be awake. As such, it makes it very easy to outrank even the most dedicated players even without having to win.

EDIT: My apologies, GM who edited the thread, for the apparent rulebreak - I must have misinterpreted the extent of the "ban support" clause when I read it, and didn't mean to cause the offense. Sorry!

Oooooh

I get it.

But then in that case, I'd have to disagree with you about him botting then.

My little brother was looking through guild pages when he saw Chris'. He had one picture of him in Blast Network, and he had 112 points or something while everyone had like 30 or something...I can't remember.

No offense dude. Last thing I want to do is piss people off....

While I won't say your

While I won't say your opinion is wrong, I just want to point out 2 things that lead me to be skeptical about that proving his legitimacy alone:

1) Photoshop makes pictures easier than ever to edit; people trying to cover their tracks are usually not above doing things like that to seem legit.

2) Just because he's botting (if he is) doesn't mean he can't turn it off, play normally when he feels like it, and put it back on when he's 'done' with playing for the day. A single match does not a playing history make.

I've played a few games after

I've played a few games after the latest patch, and I noticed there still was some players who really, really seemed a lot like botters. I simply file a complain at the end of the game if I have crossed them a couple times already and that they don't seem to change their behaviour (can file complain at the end on the game, by clicking one's name on the board). Anyway those people had in common they just bomb themself all the time.
