I really enjoy that it shoots really fast and its one of the few guns that does 6 shots. Alchemers to me feel too slow and same with the magnus series. I understand that it does split damage but is it really awful if i use it? I want to be strong gunslinger and I like the feel of this gun but I feel like I might not do as much damage as I could with alchemers.
Is argent peacemaker REALLY that bad?
I use it in FSC, I do a good amount of damage. I also use my Storm Driver and combos very well with it. It's good. Sentenza is bad.
It's okay if it's your only gun. Largely just good for FSC, and okay on fiends. I prefer Blitz--several times the damage at the slight penalty of not being able to move while shooting.
Argent for mobility,
Blitz for damage.
Take both really. If your full on health and wanna kill a Trojan fast, use blitz. If you just like runnin around gunning like a mad knight, use your AP. I recently did a FSC run with someone who had a BN, and I was shocked when they were using there blitz needle on Phase 5 of Vanaduke. They CHRGED it. About 3k damage to Vanaduke at a time ain't bad. Just sayin.
I keep my Silversix(will upgrade soon) on me so i have something to back up on when im retreating
i'm a gunslinger myself and my first 5 star was a peacemaker. if all your other choices for guns are 3 stars, then the peacemaker is useful... if you have a 4 star or better gun i would just ignore the peacemaker until it gets a buff (i will prey that it will someday).
The peacemaker does less than decent damage most of the time, its charged attack is only useful once every other level if your lucky. But its shiny and really fun to use. the choice of which 5 star gun was a clear choice to me.
remember this is just a game, if the peacemaker is more fun for you, use it and keep something more affective for serious dungeon combat so you don't pull down your group. the point of a game is to have fun (and also make the creators of said game rich). I like using a sixshooter and even if it keeps me from my highest damage potential i will still use it for less serious combat.
I would never be caught dead wearing an Argent Peacemaker, but I agree, it's a good weapon. Who cares what it's strong against? It's fast and powerful and it's all glowy and shiny and looks awesome!
That said, I would pick Sentenza over A.P. any day, any week, because it is constantly despised for "not being good enough" and I would happily be the Slinger to impart upon it the love that it so very much deserves, nyaa~ ♥
It's a good weapon for Swordies and Bomber or in FSC. But as gunslinger, if you have 3+ weapons, you'll never pick up one of those split damage crap things. Blitz Needle, Callahan, Biohazard and Polaris. These are the ruler weapons.
It works well on undead and fiends. Fiends include devilites, which dodge, and difficult targets like greavers and wings, so a gun with a small hitbox isn't amazing against them.
Unfortunately, because of the split damage, when it does get a bonus, it's half of the bonus a fully typed weapon would get. The split damage also means that it's effectively penalized against all other monster types - the 3 weapons with a split type pairing that isn't half normal (AP, Sentenza, Radiant Sun Shards) never deal 100% of their base damage, which is... somewhat odd, really. They're also an awkward fit in your arsenal, because they require you to have a weapon of the only type they're not (or normal) to cover all possible monster resistances, where any pure weapon goes with any other pure weapon of a different type.
So AP really needs your backup weapon to be pure shadow or normal to work anywhere outside of FSC. FSC is the main reason people get AP, mainly because nothing in that entire dungeon resists Elemental(except the one spawn of wolvers and, I think, Vanaduke's mask?) and only the gun puppies resist Piercing, so the usual drawbacks of using it don't apply there - nearly everything is weak to it. In any other strata that isn't undead or fiend-themed, however, you can't rely on it, and even then arenas can screw it up.
In pure damage terms, AP generally works out weaker than other guns, especially when you take into account the alchemer's splitting bullets or pulsar's expanded shots. It's only real advantage is mobility, which is why it sometimes gets chosen over other piercing guns for Vanaduke.
