Ok, I put this here since this seems like a newbish or "DUH!" question. :D
Do really short levels (e.g. Totem Trouble 1-2) give out much lower crowns on average than longer levels (Jelly Farm 1)?
On the same floor of course.

A monster's drops are based on probability. If you are really lucky, every single monster in a floor could drop a golden coin.
Because of that there is no way know for sure that how much crown you can get in a floor.
However, most levels in odd-numbered starta usually give out lower crowns than those in even or boss strata (cuz OOO wants you to go to the lower levels to get moar crowns and spend moar energy.)
Your question is not nubbish at all. If you wants more crowns, just join a random party and hopefully you skipped several floors.
Happy money-making :P
Hmm...I would say generally yes, but it depends more on how many creatures than dungeon length. Arena levels are probably the shortest, but have a high concentration of monsters relative to the size. Not to mention a Danger Room or mini-arena Party button room also increases crown gain on a level.
Can't really do a comparison unless you count the number of creatures. It's a fairly fixed number so it wouldn't be that hard to figure out which levels are potentially most profitable, but no one has really put such a list together.
