I think it would be nice to have the account information of your character in the game. The steam players cannot access there account on spiral knights website because they don't know their account name or password. If there was an option to change that in the game it will enable steam players to have a say in the forums instead of having to make a separate account.

Steam players cannot access the site except from alternate accounts because steam makes the account for them. So steam players do not know there account name or password because they are put in automatically when you use steam.

Not sure, they would need my steam account, and I would need to confirm if it is my account. Imagine doing this for every player, it would be a large vexation.

The system does it automatically, so we have no clue. If we had an in game account system we could see it an change it.
could you explain a bit better, because it sounds like security issues might arise here
