So, where to go from here...

Alright, so I've reached the completion of my 4* set now, and this is where picking which branch of upgrades I want to go with comes into play. However I'm not absolutely sure which ones I want to pick and would like some educated opinions from those who have used this gear.

Just give you an idea, my current gear is:

Miracle Hood (Medium Shadow UV)
Ash Tail Coat (Low Elemental, Low Stun UVs)
Wise Owlite Shield (High Pierce, Low Poison UVs)
Avenger
Radiant Pulsar

So, obviously I'm talking about the Helmet and Armor choices. I've heard some people say get Divine Veil/Vog Cub/Grey Feather Cowl/Skolver Coat in various combinations, and I've read some previous threads similar to this topic but there were a lot of mixed opinions.

I'll say right now that I don't like being built PURELY for FSC, I like being able to go anywhere with decent survivability, and I do often work with a team of 2 or more people. Yes I do want to be able to fight in FSC but that's now what my runs revolve around therefore I do not wish to be built purely for that run only. I'm pretty sure Vanaduke will not always be the only Tier 3 boss and this is a young game so, I refuse to build my gear as if that was the case.

I've come to the conclusion already that there is no such thing as a perfect defense, every knight has their own weaknesses and strengths, and team work is what wins the day, and deaths will happen. Great job if you managed to solo hard challenges but, I don't think that's the primary way the game is played, and with some horrible frame rate drops that often result in my death thanks to OOO spamming gun puppies and monsters in tight spaces occasionally, I prefer to have back-up with me.

So, which is more ideal? I'm currently leaning towards Divine Veil/Vog Cub Coat but I wanted some opinions first.

Hmm

Miracle Hood
That UV would be more useful on the Grey Feather Cowl since it does not yet have shadow defense. Most people favor Grey Feather over Divine due to Divine's lack of Normal defense, it is just a more useful defense in general. The Shadow defense is nice for Kats and Fiends, but Zombies still do half Normal in T3 so it is a wash for them defensively.

You could go either way though, both options are nice choices. Some people have mentioned that they "regretted" making a Divine Veil, but personally I don't find its shortcomings to be bothersome. I've probably just gotten used to it. :)

Ash Tail
Might as well do Vog, the ASI will be work well with your Avenger. If you feel the need more damage later, you can always grab one of the new sword trinkets from Krogmo.

Think of the fiends

I too was running this exact armor/shield with ascended calibur and either fiery/freeze bombs on second slot. And since i really enjoy regular runs, I'd figured I would specialize in nothing and get something that would cover all my bases. So at first, I was going to go divine/skolver. I'd figured the norm/pier and ele/sha and the status resist of both would be perfect match.

But then I figured that where I kept dying was in arenas with all the gun puppies and in fiend levels (how I HATE them!!!). As for graveyards, i really don't like them that much but I have no problems staying alive there. So I ended up with vog/divine. Like this, I get one pretty ok normal, two elementals, and one much needed shadow. Unless you're running skelly series or something, i'd take shadow over normal, which I did. But that's not all, with those two things you also get med asi, med against fiends (have i mentioned i hate them?) with any weapons, med shock resist, and FULL fire resist. And to top it off, you get an AWSOME looking halo. (top that grey feahter set, HA!) However, curse resist is totally useless as if you're running wiht faust/GF, then those enemies those weak to shadow do mostly (if not all) normal damage (which divine has none) and if they cause shadow damage, then your GF is useless wiht them.

No, but really, piercing enemies are not that bad and a single normal will do you fine. Elemental/shadow if where it's at, and yes, i've seen some users with full divine and not as costume. Combine this with another asi trinket and it's like running full vog with extra damage to fiends. Of course, after I made the change from ashtail/miracle to vog/divine I had to learn the hard way that slimes really hurt if you take them for granted :( But then again, they're nothing compared to 12 puppies all awake or 10 deviltes all throwing chairs (AAAGGGH, how i hate them!)

Also, if you go to basil and he has angel/seraphic try it as a costume with your divine veil. This is what i wear with my divine as vog looked really cool but my red color on the light blue hood was throwing everything off. Later on, since even with dinve/vog i still have problems with deviltes, ill upgrade it to valkirie mail and sinsiter skelly shield.
