I don't see why they don't exist - especially with the firecracker achievement encouraging knights to get the firecracker. These 3 proto-bomb variants should be upgradable into 2-5 star items, you could even slap exactly the same stats as the Vaporizers on them and give them different looks. Or, hell, even upgrade the Vaporizers *from* those proto-bomb variants.
It's kinda silly that you're encouraging players to get an item that goes nowhere.
That is a good point, but i'd still like to see something done with them other than being a dead-end item. I would like to say stopping at 4* would be good, because although it does lean into the point you just made, it'd give you access to Tier 3 if you did like playing with the weapon a lot.
Alternatively, a system could be implemented where once you have the achievement for the Firecracker, only the one you got the achievement for could bring it's UVs forward. Additional achievements could be added for the Cold Snap and Static Flash - which would also encourage knights to play with variations, test other status inflictions to see which suits them the most.
If you delete/trade/sell it, that's your own fault, though there should be a warning as such.

Well, here's ONE reason.
They are MODIFIED PROTO bombs.
Heck, here's another.
If they went to 4 or 5*, it could easily overpower the Nitronome since it would deal extra effects.
Let them go up to 3*, like the firebreaker/frostbreaker/voltbreaker/static edge/hot edge lines.
This way you can upgrade them, but they will not allow you get t3 acess.
But since there was this whole arguement over people upgrading 1* items striaght up to 5*, Haze Bomb, and just ragecrafting them until they got a Uv. Giving them full paths would be inadvisable. Perhaps stopping them at 2*/3* would be better.
