Um, well I'm trying to get a Solid Cobalt Helm, but it costs 200 energy. I only can use mist energy, and I'm not aloud to buy any energy, so how do I get it if I only can have access to 100 energy at a time? And because the Solid Cobalt Helm is a 3 star helmet, I need it to get to tier three. So am I stuck with being on tier 2? Please help.
Um, how am I supposed to get this much energy?

you have to buy Crystal
you have to buy Crystal Energy (CE) with your crowns that you get. Click on the energy icon in the lower right of the screen.

A nice long term strat to
A nice long term strat to pile up CE is to farm Jelly King. Make sure to compile an enormous active friends list so you always can get in a run.
The next part is a little taboo, but what the heck, nobody's going to track me down with a crowbar and beat me to death.
In order to make large amounts of CE, you can
1. Scam people (not a good long term idea),
2. Buy the limited items (Rose Regalia? I bought a bunch when they were at 2k CE. Now the Chapeaus are at 15k+ CE each),
3. Play the CE market. You must pay 1% of the listed price, but that's nothing. A typical spread looks like this: Sell CE for: 5500 (-55 crowns for listing), Buy CE for: 5200 crowns. Approx 250 crown profit per 100 CE manipulated. Easy cash, especially when you have over 5000CE. Then, you'll be earning thousands of crowns every minute. Literally.
4. Craft stuff. Get a recipe not used by the UV crafters (like some of the alchemers), buy the stuff off the market (by buy, I mean bid. Do not buy out unless the bid price is the buyout price) for the recipe, get some CE, and get crafting. On the 3 star items, you can make 1-2k crowns per item made. About the same profit as mid-level CE manipulation, and easier to get into.
Anyways, that's a start. I've heard of certain merchant clans training their members in these methods, but their names slip my mind. All of the top clans have at least a couple Warren Buffetts in them.

Use the Energy Depot!
To get to it, click that energy symbol on the bottom right.
Don't bother with the Purchase tab, because you're not allowed to buy energy, and go to either the Trade or the Market tab. On the Trade tab, you can buy energy using crowns really quickly (but for not as cheap as possible). On the Market tab, you can put up offers in crowns for energy which other players can accept.
