New Equip Ideas

Recently, it occured to me that there re lots of ideas, good ideas, for new weapons.

I'm not really sure what to say about this forum, so I'll just say this.
I've been thinking about a new elemental sword. The divine avenger
is really the only true elemental sword(and brandishes don't count,
they're not true elementals), and Fang of Vog is impossible, so pic-
ture this:

A 5* sword that does pure elemental damage, a little bit above 2 thirds
of the meter. moderate speed, about the same as leviathan.
It is about the length of the ascended calibur, and the width is the
same. It's dark green, and sort of has lines if light coming off of it.
As a side effect, maybe 1/3 chance of sleep/poison/stun. The charge
shoots a couple of vines at enemies and pulls them in for a final,
more powerful swing.

And alas.... I'm not creative enough to think of a good name....
but you get the idea. Remember, try to post your own things at
this discussion, too.

Edit: @starlinvf: TY for the great name!!! :D Ivy Lash it is, then!

I'd call it an Ivy Lash

I'd call it an Ivy Lash Blade. It just fits.

Now for original content---

Piercing/Normal blade (can't decide if it would be better as a calibur or heavy blade line). A sword edge lined with jagged spines.

3* - Spine Back Blade - An old blade fitted with sharp spines along its edge. Advise caution while running.
4* - Wolf fang blade - A blade upgraded with alpha wolver fangs to give it a little extra bite. The wolvers never appreciated the joke.
5* - Ripjaw - A strong metal blade embedded with the glowing spines of the Snarbolax. Also fun at parties.

Perhaps that norm/pierce sword could start off as a Cutter, then require the 2* Thorn Blade to start that new line? The sword would function as a cutter for the basic attacks, and the charge could be a spin like the Calibur spin. The spin would be slightly weaker than normal, and the knockback would be slightly less like a CIV, but it'd shoot spines out in all directions like a giant lichen colony does (perhaps with less range than that, but, yeah).

I honestly find it disappointing that nigh nothing in the game requires something from a different line entirely to make, so a cutter using a thorn blade to lead to that new line would be interesting and unique.

That being said, if a new tier of equips come out, 6* or higher, I'd like to see weapons that require you to have more than one item to craft; like starlinvf's Ripjaw and a Fang of Vog making a sword that deals Normal, Elemental, AND pierce, with FoV's charge combined with the spike shooting.

Just brainstorming, here. If a new tier of equips come out, they have to be really, really hard to get... because, honestly, 5* gear is really powerful already. I personally wouldn't like it at all if they just added another upgrade to the line, like a 6* avenger or summat. They need to be unique, like combining two similar swords to make one that captures the best of both.

great ideas!

@Starlinvf: I like this "Ripjaw" sword alot! It's
really a creative sword and sounds pretty
Spiral Knights-Esque.

@Duke-Nukem: This is a good idea, and I think
I know what you're getting at... No pressure, but
descriptions would be awesome.

Idea

I like the idea, but having it start from the Snarble Barb doesn't really sound "right."

It should start out as its own line, since it would be an odd transition to go from Snarble Barb to this idea (Pure Piercing to Normal/Piercing)

@Duke_Nukem - There is already a thread that is adressing the 5* Winmillion ideas, and they have quite a few weapons thought out...

In regards to this weapon though, heres my own version...

2* - Ancient Blade: A blade worn down by the ages, it apears to have plants growing in the cracks and niches, making it somewhat dull compared to other blades.

3* - Overgrown Blade: Slight Alchemy has causes this blade to overgrow with flora. Its not very good at cutting, but it may give your foes a nasty rash.

4* - Ivy Blade: Further Alchemy has made the flora grow thick and grow spines, making this weapon much more efficient at killing as well as seeping toxins into your enemies.

5* - Forest's Champion: A blade teeming with life, the thick vines seep toxic chemicals constantly, making this natural blade a formidable weapon against those who doubt its power.

Starts out doing somewhat low normal damage, then when it reaches the 4* version it gains a split of Pierce/Normal. 3-5* versions have a chance to apply poison to the enemy. The charge attack for the 2-3* version would be more akin to a Proto Sword, but the 4-5* would either shoot vines straight forward or be a slightly more damaging spin attack acompanied with thorns that shoot out in multiple directions. 3* Charge has a slightly higher chance to poison, while the 4-5* is an almost guaranteed poison on contact with the blade, while the thorns have a slightly better chance than normal attacks to deal poison.

=(

No one likes my idea of weapons made in crafting using items other than just the very last item in the line? I mean, really, everything in the game I've seen is get the 2*, make it 3*, use that same 3* to make it 4*, then use some random fancy material alongside the 4* and have it at 5*. It's the same thing over n' over. :/

Hm, I didn't notice that you posted that idea.
Of course it's good, and I am bored of the
normal system.

+1

+1 for Ripjaw. The idea and implementation behind a mixed normal/piercing would be fun. It might do a little less damage to certain monsters but it would even out on others.
