I think the iPad 2's spec is good enough to handle spiral knights

I'd even pay for the app if it comes out!

Oh Geez...

Specs ain't everything man. The leap needed to actually get the MMO to function on the pad as it does on the computer needs at least some sort of intermediary to make sure connections are good enough and everything is working properly. Remember, this is an action MMO that takes a while just to download onto the comp, and needs frequent updates that take some time. The iPad usually doesn't take that sort of thing in stride, and even ordinary computers around the spec level of the iPad would need work. Maybe in time, but the app will be long in coming.

And so begins the gaming

And so begins the gaming industries' decent into madness, as every game will now have to run on an Xbox, PS3, FX5200, Android, iPad, Super 3DS, OnLive, and the cheapest i3 that Dell can oversell on a PC. Player interfaces will all be consolidated into a single context button, and movement controlled by whipping your device around in the air.

Developers will go insane as each patch to fix one system specific issue breaks on 3 others. Databases will crash from having to track every bullet ever fired, every step ever taken, and servers will implode from having to support 12 different DRM platforms, all of which communicate with a different home server. Friends list become interlinked, spraying data across the internet, colliding with the facebook wall, causing it to scatter updates to other lists, eventually looping back to the original post, over and over until it accelerates beyond the speed of light, opening a black hole that will pull all the packets in every connected network into itself, collapse, then explode in a super nova of bits on such a grand magnitude, that everything will be blown back into DARPA.

Good luck getting fast

Good luck getting fast content updates through Apple's tight restrictions on what they'll allow to run. Besides, an Apple A5 SoC is nowhere near powerful to run a not-entirely-functional netbook, let alone modern PC games. If you want to run modern PC games on a tablet, then you need something massively more powerful, such as AMD's Desna APUs:

Spiral Knights would probably run well enough to be playable on that. It should definitely be playable on a tablet based on AMD's upcoming Hondo APU, but that's likely not coming until next year.

Not a bad idea

yes well, it may be a good idea. since 3G is out, it can be portable and played wherever wanted. but the internet connection on the ipad is pretty weak compared to the requirements of the game. And it may not launch correctly due to graphics. They may find a way to compress all that. And perhaps, they can be able to pull it off. Anyway, there could be an SK app full of minigames allowing you earn crowns from those minigames. And then connect via internet to your laptop and send the crowns to your pc. That will be the best idea. Hopefully it will turn out correctly.

The minigames would have to

The minigames would have to require CE, or the crown rewards would get out of hand. But I'm sure someone would cite problems with Mac and PvP as justification for crowns via an iPad. :P

Good idea and bad. Having it

Good idea and bad. Having it on IPad would make people want it one other places. I know it would be fun to play on a something like a 3DS, but it's just not possible to do something like this on so many different systems.

If they have Java ported to

If they have Java ported to Android, thats pretty much 80% of the work done already. Take chunks of code from Puzzle Pirates, replace the visuals, instant SK puzzle game.

It would be nice to have a light interface that gives you access to AH, vendors, mail, and crafting.
