Some weekends ago, the elevator costs went down to 5 energy for the weekend. This pretty much add another 1000 crowns to the energy costs, and its stuck there now. So was it worth it?

First, the rise in the cr<->CE exchange rate since right before the power surge weekend to now is closer to 600-700cr. Second, I highly doubt that the current exchange rate is much influenced by the two day power surge weekend. The rise is much more likely to be related to longer term trends and may well continue to rise. I doubt it will reach 7k, like it was before steam users came, since there are now useful for people who have CE to sell to get crowns. IMHO, there needs to be many more crown significant sinks added to the game.

Edit: D'oh! forgot my main point of replying: the power surge weekend was almost certainly worth it to OOO in terms of increased excitement, players returning, and good will generated by most players, and that is all that matters.

Well it kind of sucks, but I got a lot of stuff... also I try and think of the good that came from it. i'm starting school again soon, so I'm going back to only using my Mist. That just means I could only have possibly gotten 100ce a week extra compared to now if prices were lower, since I would have used mist either way because of school. If I was using my CE all the time, then it would feel worse. Besides, it's just a game anyway, no matter how much I get addicted to it. Power surge is always cool, as long as it's not happening like, every week or something.
