Question about a specific clockwork level

Sorry but I don't remember its name. It's a clockwork level with those long corridors, with a special section - a corridor going from north to south (you came from a random direction).

In that special section there is always an elemental floor trap in the middle of it, with breakable blocks setup into two rows, each connected to a blue "chain-reaction" block. The breakable blocks extend to the far left side of the screen, where there are a few green boxes that you couldn't see until you break the blocks.

My question is: Is that level setup to be a gamble, or is it always setup so that you should use the chain-reaction box for the north row, and avoid it for the south row?

I've seen all possible combinations of that setup. If you're approaching from the south you can sometimes see the first one if you can get far enough west to see. If not, you can always see the other half, so it's only sometimes a half-gamble.

Ok, I've done this multiple times and failed once.

You have to check veeeery carefully. If they are connected in a way that the indestructible blocks block your path, then you have to use the ghost block. If its only breakable ones blocking the path to the prizes, then it'll be a trap. If you hit it when it's a trap, you'll lose the boxes.

It's supposed to be a gamble.

It's supposed to be a gamble. As far as I know your chances are 50/50. If possible you should check if the treasure boxes are connected to the unbreakable blocks beforehand. Sometimes you can check, sometimes you can't.

- If the chests are connected to the unbreakable blocks then separate the ghost block before you hit it.
- If the chests are not connected to the unbreakable blocks then remove the unbreakable blocks by hitting the ghost block.
- If you don't know then you have to guess.

You will always have two chances to score. You should always be able to score on the second try (unless you are careless.)

I'm not sure if you can throw a vial and break the chests beforehand. If you approach from the north then it might be worth a try.
