@Shoebox
I currently love the heavy weapons of the game, like the Troika and Heavy Hatchet, does the Gran Faust work similiar to those weapons? Because I noticed it had a much higher speed than the Troika/Hatchet, but if it works similiar to those weapons, I probably just found my weapon that I'm going to work towards. I don't know where to begin to start getting the Jelly Tokens for it though...
The actual path to continue the heavy series you described, Akutare, is the khorovod (that i had previously >_<), if you follow the evolution path of the equips.
Now, for the jelly tokens, you need to defeat a boss, called jelly king, that you can find only in a certain level. Search in the arcade for a sequence of 3 jelly (pink) levels, without any other level in these same floors, and see if the last one have some reference to roialty. Warning that, of course, the bosses of this game require a certain coordinations level with your party members (trying to solo is an option too, but don't advised because of the amount of time you will spend), but nothing impossible.
Hope i have helped.
Yeah, I was aware of the series that Troika follows, and I was planning on following it until I can get a Sealed Sword/Faust. And by searching the levels, do you mean the TVs that are in front of each of the stations? Or do you mean actually going through and seeing if there are 3 jelly levels in a row?
you can check at the gate "tv" and travel down the depth of the levels looking for the series of floors. the gate should have a jelly strata towards the middle/bottom. on gates that arent open yet, you might see a jelly strata that says something like "power surges detected at this level".. that means when it iopens it will have the jelly boss at that strata
Shoebox's advice is... all over the map. The iceburst brandish, for example, has no upgrade potential past 3*.
The wolver set offers bonuses to swords, so it follows that the best gear will be some form of sword. Some swords are fast, and others slow. You can see all swords, sorted by star level, at:
http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Swords
Then go to http://wiki.spiralknights.com/List_of_alchemy_paths to figure out exactly what the upgrade potential of your chosen weapon is, and which recipes are needed along the way. My personal choice is the cold iron carver, which offers a high damage bonus to undead, and very good defense otherwise; the precursor recipes are also readily available in Haven. (The leviathan blade isn't, but I like prefer swords with bonuses against the enemies I most want to poke)
He said he wanted ideas for swords from two to five stars.
Just because the Iceburst Brandish has no upgrade potential past Tier 2 doesn't mean it isn't a good weapon for farming Jelly Tokens for a Sealed Sword Pre-Tier 3. In fact, it's also currently the only sword in the game that inflicts freeze, a good status for crowd control.
Also, since the Leviathan Blade has more attack than the Cold Iron Carver/Vanquisher, this means it benefits more overall from the damage bonuses the Wolver and it's upgrades give. The Cold Iron Vanquisher might deal better damage to undead, but if he wanted to do that in the first place there are better weapons for dealing with them, as well as better armor for fighting against them.
Sorry for the slight bump, but this is an interesting thread... I was originally thinking of going Cold Iron Carver/Vanquisher for undead but then Shoebox mentioned:
...there are better weapons for dealing with them, as well as better armor for fighting against them.
So what weapon/armor is recommended for diving in to an undead strata?
These are few good choices:
Leviathan Blade: This is the vanilla sword. It does max Normal Damage, in 3-hits. While it may not be as specialised as other swords, it's reliable and a safe bet for crafting. If your favourite weapon ever gets nerfed, this guy will always be here to pat you on the back while you're on way to crafting the next flavour of the month.
Iceburst Brandish: Quite self explanatory, this guy will put the cold shoulder on anything dumb enough to get in your way on Tier 2. This lets you deal follow up attacks if it's effective, without any danger to yourself. It also looks quite nice.
Gran Faust: An obvious choice, the Gran Faust can curse enemies, meaning they take damage whenever they attack. It only self-inflicts curse on a charge attack, but since curse can be cured by a Remedy Pill, this isn't nearly all that bad. It's sister weapon, the Divine Avenger, is much slower and doesn't curse. But it does have a much better charge attack. They're both equally good choices, but your damage bonus will give a greater effect to the Gran Faust, because it deals more damage than the Divine Avenger.
Those are just my recommendations.
