So you get the option to transfer the unique variant on your equipment when you upgrade it, this is optional for some reason, does that mean there is a downside to doing this?
Transfer Unique Variant
The "downside" would be not getting a chance at a different variant, or removing the one you have completely.
thats what i assumed paska, for some reason i couldn't find the information about this on the wiki... until just now when i specifically search for Variants, the crafting page linked from the main page doesn't even meantion that unique variants exist. Thanks tho :D
Do the available variants change at higher levels? Eg, are there unique variants only available to the higher star items?
http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Crafting#Unique_Variants It's mentioned on the crafting page.
I don't think anyone has noticed the UVs being different for different star levels.
Oh equinox. You "don't think anyone has noticed", won't confirm it either way. That's silly.
How good can the bonus you get from a UV be, So far ive had low and medium.. is it possible to get High resists to?
I've noticed one thing about the UV, but it may just be a coincidence. The lower the star level the worse the bonus. What I mean by this is, for a 1 or 2 star it'll be low, while for three stars it'll be medium. So it might be that the higher level you go the better the bonus, then again I could be wrong.
Errr.
Noir, I've managed to get a medium or two on 2* items and a high on a 2* sword as well.
Apparently the chance is same throughout the UV board.
Around 10% chance for crafting all items.
Check the wiki forum; there's a thread containing data from hundreds of trials. It's totally feasible to get very high (or better) variants on 1-2* items.
I'll say that I got a Maximum strength resist bonus on a 2* item yesterday so I doubt it has any relation to item level.
I can confirm from this morning crafting a cutter with charge time reduce: Very High. (At work atm so I can't do a screencap, though I'm more than happy to if anyone wants proof.) Does anyone know what the possibilities are on the modifier? (eg: low, moderate, high, very high?)
Nope.
