Basically you should be able to combine shields, swords, guns, and armor to make weapon extremely powerful, for example if i had a volcanic plate shield and i also had a aegis shield i would combine them to enhance there abilities so instead of just having fire for the the volcanic and piercing for the aegis shield i would have both of them into one shield and with this shield i should be able to make it look the way i want with certain customization options and i should also be able to name it simply because its is a unique shield. The more combinations i add to my shield the stronger and more versatile it would become the same goes with combining different types of armor, and everything else.

the game would lose interest
the game would lose interest if that happened because then any weapon could have any ability.but maybe being able to merge weapons would be good.like merging weapons that are the same type.
