So, I crafted a cobalt helm. One of the abilities on the Spiral Knights wiki says "Health Bonus: +1". However, mine does not have any such ability listed, and my maximum health is still 5. Is it just my helm, or is the wiki wrong?

Yeah, that's a Wiki error. Infact anything you see in-game is the real deal. Wiki is usually outdated. Ill check the page and get to editing it as soon as I can.

The wiki shows:
Abilities
- Level 5+: Health Bonus: +1
- Level 10: Health Bonus: +2
So... once you get to Level 5 heat then the helm will give you the health bonus. Once you reach Level 10 that bonus will change from +1 to +2.
There is also a equipment bonus reduction depending on the star level, heat level and tier you are in. This way someone with 5* Level 10 equipment doesn't have incredibly high health in Tier 1... they'll still have more health than others but it will not be excessive. To see the maximum health bonus your armors provide, check out your character panel when in Haven.
That is not a wiki error at all.
Once you are in Tier 2, it gets its full bonuses.
2* and higher armor does not confer its full health bonus in Tier 1. Specifically, 2* stuff gets a -1 health penalty (reducing it to +0 health until lv5, at which point it becomes +1). Similarly, 4* and 5* armor get health penalties in Tiers 1 and 2 as well- you can't "out-health" the "appropriate armor" of a tier except with Vitasuits (which give weak defenses).
Tier 1: meant for 0-1* gear
Tier 2: meant for 2-3* gear
Tier 3: meant for 4-5* gear
Build your 2* weapon next, if you haven't already. You get much more out of it than 2* armor in Tier 1.
(...Also, I personally dislike Cobalt... It doesn't do anything interesting, useful or unique. Matches the knightly aesthetic at least?)
