seems to happen to often

I was at a depth 20 graveyard at the iron knight gate
I made the mistake of walking over the grave stones of every zombie in a small vicinity, but this is something I can manage on solo
However, I heard the phantom approaching but I couldn't see it

3 seconds later, I got hit by the phantom's gran faust charge and I die
It was in the freaking air but its charge was able to hit me

I raged quit afterwards and now im rage typing this post

Well you will be rage-upset

Well you will be rage-upset by the simple rage-answer that the Phantoms are the only mob in the game that can noclip right to ya. Since the Graveyard has a lot of altitude changes, the Phantoms are graced with the pleasure of Z-axis hacking.

Did you know you can kill them as much as they can kill you? The funny thing is a lot of the time, they don't quite understand what's going on, so they attack much less often when they're noclipping through buildings and whatnot. If you see EVEN A GLIMMER of them hovering in the foreground, start swinging.

They just got some fat nerfing recently, BTW.

There. I hope my rage-answer will rage-calm you down a bit.

From the little info

From the little info available, I'm assuming the phantom was standing over an 'empty' zone, thus placing it very very high, right?
That's 'cause, lately (month or so) Phantoms can't cross the medium walls. If it appears outside the actual floor, in the pits, it will never make its way back again unless it 'teleports' later on. I'm then assuming it was attacking from behind the wall, where its Y value was kicked up, making it unseen outside the borders of the screens.
It's not a question of graveyards, or about the difficulty of phantoms, it's phantoms and how they react to those chest-high walls.

I mean, they pass through everything else, why not those specific walls? It looks... strange.

a more pressing glitch...

was when my party was destroyed by invisible phantoms
and before you get smartass on me...
1. We were on the middle of the room far from the walls (the big one where you fight the other zombies)
2. We were hacking away in panic in all directions and we got at least 2, and saw the orbs float...
3. About a few seconds after we were decimated, they turned visible (halfway in their attack BTW so they really were the ones hitting us)
4. Though they are invisible, we cant get around them, confirming that they ARE there...

but my story is another thing...

I had to attack one once...

It's position was way outta whack, and my hits had to be like 2 panels down if I wanted to make contact. His position was given away by his charge attack, which showed me where he was SUPPOSED to be.

Funny how he has a Faust line charge attack, when he only had a cutter...

yeah, came out of a D28

yeah, came out of a D28 graveyard last night. Phantom appeared far to the left, high above me in blank space. Though this bothered me since I couldn't aim at it properly I just ran back and forwards with Radiant Sun SHards, til it died, but it reappeared later to the right somewhere, and at that point it was too high up to see where it was coming from. I don't know how I managed to make it lol..

I've sent a bug report

I've sent a bug report recently stating that a Phantom spawned so high up in the air, that it was been displayed on my screen at least 6 times the size of a normal phantom...
Maybe you couldn't see your phantoms because they were super high up on the screen and couldn't go down.
