Hi there I have a Suggestions for game Spiral Knights.

So I was playing this game and I saw that mist energy recovers quickly and if you offline for 1day or more it goes for nothing..so I
Suggesting Mist energy saver or battery call it what ever you want. you could buy it for Crystal energy and it have limit for how much mist energy it can hold:
150CE for level 1 energy battery it can hold 100mist energy.
250CE for level 2 energy battery it can hold 200mist energy.
400CE for level 3 energy battery it can hold 350mist energy.
600CE for level 4 energy battery it can hold 500mist energy.
850CE for level 5 energy battery it can hold 800mist energy.

This how it shloud look in game not the same as in the picture but almost the same> http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/51/ideay.gif/
There 2 places where it could be A and B.
if you want to buy battery you should simply press on the zone A or B and select which do you want to buy , or find trader made special for that. To recover Mist energy you just simply press on the button or smth and every 6h or 12h you can recover 100Mist energy.

Sorry if i made some mistakes in this letter I don't write very good in English. ;)

Its not gonna work right.

Its not gonna work right. The CE cost doesn't make sense since your putting more CE into the system then you can recover from it. These types of items could never be permanent, and even when you double the mist recovery rate it'll take up to 4days to fill an 800ME tank. Your better off keeping it as CE.

You can't justify ME enhancements using CE to purchase.... in the end these ideas always come down to 2 major flaws. They either subvert the entire energy system, or they can't justify their own cost.

I think the general idea behind the mist battery is less that it's cost effective to the fact it allows a player that's only allotted one to two days to play to use up his/her full use of mist energy. By paying for the initial investment of say 850-1000CE they've been given the chance to play once per week utilizing their mist instead of missing out on 600 or so energy for 4 times a month at the cost of 1kce. As it stands there might be players incapable of playing once a day to use their mist. This while not being the most economical choice would be a good alternative for them. Paying to use that chance would feel less like a waste of all those other days energy.

The real downside of this is that by allowing the player to save up 800 mist in the form of a battery the player bypasses the need to purchase CE to make gear. This could easily be circumvented by accumulating the ME in the tank, like an auxiliary tank that only allows a player to access 100 at a time. This would ensure that the CE market isn't particularly threatened by players utilizing a mist battery to craft.

And if the secondary battery with the ME bar had pips to show how many units of 100 you have saved up it could be easily accessed by clicking on a pip and confirming to refill your 100 ME.

This would allow players with less time to play to still enjoy their mist and allow OOO another form of income. I'm not sure what a fair breakdown would be. 800ce per 2 week boost for an auxiliary ME tank upgrade? Seeing as how it functions less as a means of bypassing the system and more of one to help the more time strapped players it might not be a bad idea. Depending on the cost of course of the tank/duration.

OOO development team I wouldn't look this one over and not at least consider it. Some players might care more about being efficient with the energy they could access as opposed to the cost to them than lose out on the use of the energy they would be given.

The underlying problem is

The underlying problem is still the fact that your converting your CE into ME. If your plans are to store that missed 600 ME, you still spent CE (which has much more flexible spending) to obtain the tanks.

My issue isn't using mist to craft, its the fact that your spending 850CE for a tank that lets you store 800ME. You are now down 50CE and the time it takes to fill that tank. You could had easily kept the 800CE with all its tradeable perks. In the end, you don't gain much and imposes all the restrictions of ME for a greater cost of CE.

I think that if the duration of the boost is longer than a week then you're actually looking at 800ce for 14+ days of energy saving. The likelihood is that the player will play once a week for the missed 600 ME. CE is most certainly more flexible as a currency, but if the player wanted to utilize his ME that he was going to miss out on regardless to earn more crowns then I see no real problem. If the cost to use the booster allowed you to store the ME, the gains that could be made from playing would allow them to convert said ME into CE through purchases with crowns. The potential for profit from the 1200 additional ME is higher than the 800 CE cost. But OOO by having 100 ME per day as an allotted amount was already letting other players have that earning potential.

As for the time to fill it, the time it takes to fill the tank is irrelevant. The player wouldn't even be able to log onto the game to utilize it. It becomes more convenient for them to wait and play at their leisure on their day off. That's the idea behind the tank, nothing to bypass CE as a means of crafting or power leveling your gear.

If I were to not use my ME I'd see losses, that's the truth. I could make enough on my runs to sustain my game play or convert those profits to CE as long as I don't require self rezzing.

OOO makes a profit by giving them an option to gain storable ME(energy they would have had anyhow if they were able to play daily) and support the CE market by purchasing more with their earnings. And they pay for the ability to make up their losses in ME and even turn a profit from frugal gameplay. I can't honestly see why it would be an issue for you if there was a larger percentage of the player base that would want to be able to schedule their gameplay for certain days at a small cost.

A very good friend of mine makes a good point. If the CE cost is the issue OOO can charge a very modest fee for a larger ME tank through the in game purchase menu. It wouldn't negatively affect the CE market beyond the casual players wanting to purchase ce from paying players more often. And the ME tank system could make casual players happy and earn OOO more money through another means of revenue.

Even if it was $2-5 for 30 days the profits would undoubtedly be good. Even given the ratio of paying players to F2P if even 10-20k accounts decide to opt in for this option that's a smaller portion of the community and is still a sizable return for a coding change that's akin to mist tanks in monthly earnings.

Convenience for a price, sounds about right in a F2P.
