So i love my faust, despite believing it to be inferior to Acheron i love the looks, slow bursty style and how interesting the blade is..thing is though i generally only dive through T2. I'm tempted to upgrade my faust for the looks alone despite not gaining much in the way of damage BUT there is one thing bothering me..i've heard the charge time INCREASES (for god knows what reason) at 5*. Since i actually do use the charge a fair bit this kinda matters. Anyway does anyone know any specifics on how this sword changes at 5*? Aside from damage of course.
Faust -> Gran Faust
That's pretty ridiculous, really gotta wonder why they made it so horrible at 5*..seems pretty unfair when it already has a good chance of cursing you AND only has one projectile unlike DAs three :( sadface!
It's probably a balancing issue. if it has the same charge time as DA, people can spam it and curse everything in sight with that flying sword
It already has drawbacks though, self curse..weaker area of effect on the charge; i see what you're saying though but i really don't think it needs ALL that. Just the charge time and self curse perhaps, ah well..thats a shame, guess i'll keep it 4* (also, if it was a curse spamming issue you'd think the 4* would have a longer charge time also)
I'm pretty certain that if they don't buff the Gran Faust to match the huge spike in usefulness that a Divine Avenger has (especially with the GF having a ridiculously heightened charge time), it'll be more useful in a different way when 6* level weapons come out (if ever), as a secondary non-material component in a different line. Well, that, or if it has a 6* of its own, it'll be considerably more awesome.
A Gran Faust with Max CTR has exactly 4 seconds of charge time.
It is also not that horrible with the proper gear. With some decent curse resist, I've reduced the curse time to 25 seconds, and made it affect only 1 item and 1 weapon. I also carry blue pills in case a weapon I want to use is cursed.
Divine Avenger is more useful than a Gran Faust because it doesn't require a tremendous investment to effectively use the charge attack, but the latter is worth the investment in my opinion, if only for the luxury of having the equivalent of an infinite stock of extra-badass curse vials. Shaped like giant swords. :D
Also it clears arenas like nobody's business.
T3 gremlins are haxxors, but you shiney GF will render their cheats invalid >:p
I love clearing out T3 Wrench Warfare arena with ma awesume grant faust.
The charge time indeed increases, to about 10 seconds or so at base.
That's the only major difference I ever noticed.
