Decrease drop rate of all materials

With the large amount of active players now, there's a surplus of pretty much all materials. Result is that just about everything has become worthless on the AH. Even heavy gears, something that used to consistently net you at least a few thousand crowns, have succumbed to undercutting.

I'm not sure if decreasing the drop rates will fix this, but at this point it can't hurt.

Leave the 0-2* be but yeah, i agree that the rest needs to be nerfed seriously to like 25% of what it is now.

But I havent even SEEN a philloso feather.
I picked one up today going down to the FSC, I think i have three of them at the moment.

Instead of decreasing the drop rate, i'd rather see significantly more used during crafting. It is fun to find different stuff.

Heavy gears?

I remember selling mats, and never even HEARD of a heavy gear until like 50 people asked me if I had them. Even now, I have just ONE.
But have over 100 scrap XD

and 90+ ecto drops.

I wouldn't change drop rates.

I wouldn't change drop rates. I have tons of somenthings, none of others. One thing that might help is to change where things drop. I have crap tons of everything jelly from jelly runs, and not as much from other genres. Limiting low end items, say light shards only drop off gremlins, would motivated to trade more or go to different gates.

I've made this suggestion before: allow transmuting mats. With the Krogmo machine that doesn't require recipes, the prescident has already been set for not making us by recipes for it. I would say it should take no energy, or perhaps free for 1-2*, 3* 5 energy, 10 for 4*, etc. This would let us burn off the tons of scrap metal and ecto drops we don't need. Lowering the drop rates on 3 and 4* items would also make this more worthwhile.

I'd still like to see

I'd still like to see something gameplay related to burning mats on. And to that end I still endorse robot fights.

Re: aquajag

Dealing with excess materials is a completely different issue. I'm talking about the market value of materials here. Adding the ability to transmute mats wouldn't address that at all.

Theres plenty of valuable

Theres plenty of valuable stuff that doesn't drop all that often. The lower star stuff is lower for obvious reasons, and the inexpensive 4-5* mats are so because of people over farming certain strata IE jellys, royal cores..brute cores etc. Not much that can be really done about it - i also wouldn't sit there getting mad that your stack of mats is worth nothing and praying they lower droprates for some reason :p

I've BEEN saying we need a Material-sink...

but there's a lot of other good ideas in here that would accomplish the same thing.

I think we can all agree that something needs to be done.

Re: evanct

i don't see how they're that different. If in order to get my mats for my Ash bomb, I needed to transmute using the mats you had, that increases your mat's market value because I am demanding them. You said "lower drop rate" to increase the value. You are aiming at creating value by increasing scarcity and keeping demand the same. I'm just offering another way to increase value: leave scarcity the same, and increase demand. I agree that many mats are undervalued in the AH. I just think there're more game and play and player friendly ways to do it than choking off the supply.

do what you should do

go to brinks, if you need a material for a recipe you can always find it at brinks, and seeing as how most people dont even spend their tokens they will almost always have enough saved to get whatever they need.

Decrease light shards by like 90%

The thing they really need to decrease the drop rate of is light shards. I have like 1300 of them.
