List of suggestions

1. Don't lose everything you worked for in a dungeon just because of DC. I understand the reasoning for needing to complete a dungeon to get the loot, but I have friends that DC frequently in a dungeon and lose everything because of it. This becomes even more annoying if you are trying to solo for mats and you DC so you can't get back in. If there is any way there can be a work around this without it being abused and breaking the game, this would be helpful.

2. Another server. I know this is asking a lot since servers are not cheap. But the amount of people playing this game and the high demand of the game itself makes everything way too laggy to play sometimes. If this cannot happen though then that is understandable. I guess this is a rather obvious suggestion.

3. More advanced graphic options. When the dungeons are getting too laggy, sometimes I wish I could lower the game settings to the point where it can really make a difference. I don't really care for looks when a lot of fire, bullets, bombs, and other random things are flying around on the screen.

4. Let us make our own forum names separate from our account name. This is for security reasons but it is rather risky for us to display our account name when posting here.

5. Let us use special characters when making a password. Personally I don't think a password is any good without both numbers, letters, and special characters. But that is just me.

6. A Forum topic for in game mechanics. It would be handy to have a section dedicated to just armor suggestions, monster stats, strategies and other such things instead of it being cluttered up in the general discussion.

7. Either add and Auction House or some form of limited space and time shop set ups. Not really sure how to describe it. Some free MMOs just have people set up random shops in places for people to browse through.

That is all I can think of off the top of my head at the moment. I still love this game and appreciate all the hard work being put into it. These are just some things that would be nice to consider.

I support #1 - I could SWEAR

I support
#1 - I could SWEAR I used to disconnect during the beta and I started right where I left off (maybe so long as my party was still on the same level)

#3 - I think this would open the game up to people who can't handle the game. I know its not intended for people under the system requirements, but just for lols, I tried to make this laptop play this game (with only 256 memory on bad wireless), I ALMOST made it in the game . If settings were reduced just a tad bit more, I might be able to play at home lol.

#7 - For obvious reasons.

I do not support
#4 - Don't name your character the same name as your forum name =T Make another character instead. Actually I started out using a name different from my forum character, but that I feel could get confusing so I immediately made my second character my forum name. It's not as big of a security risk as you'd think, unless you're just a jerk to everyone, no one is going to bother hacking this game and risking a ban just to get at you specifically.

I have no opinion on #2, #5, or #6

1. It no longer does as of right now. Every time you DC, you are forced out of the dungeon. Maybe if the DC isn't long it works though?

4. Your account name and character name are two different things. I was talking about the actual name you use to log into the game and this page. The forum uses that name. I would like that to change. I would never use my character name as my account name. That would be horrible. D:

I would like to add

Since I have a message at the top of my forum page saying that "You are not allowed to post new content in the forum" (for some unknown reason) I guess I'll add my suggestion here:

- "Remember my Password" option for login.

I occasionally run Spiral Knights from my HTPC, so when I'm playing from my couch I have no way of entering text. If I could save my password, I wouldn't have to keep re-connecting a keyboard.

There's already a workaround. Create a new account and post on it.

Bad workaround for a bad practice

Workarounds are the weaker type of 'solutions'. Disappointing (but not entirely surprising) to see Three Rings doesn't see room/reason for improvement with regards to forum/security practices.

Also, not 'syzygy' in game. In fact, hardly in game at all.

I did take that work around

I did take that work around into consideration before I started posting here, though made the mistake that I was being too paranoid and didn't. Now I am unsure if I can still do this before it is too late.

As syzygy said though, it may be a solution but that shouldn't be the over tedious solution to the problem. As for now though, I will still consider it.

Umm... account name being public is a pretty common concept and not a major security flaw. They'd still have to get your password or access to your e-mail for the reset password. What is the security risk of knowing your account name?

Disconnects still return you

Disconnects still return you to where you left off (give or take some heath depending on what you were doing). If you try to reconnect to fast the loading may hang. Restarting the client will forfeit your ability to reconnect where you left off.

Actually if someone knows

Actually if someone knows your username, they can figure out your password if they are determined enough. It is scary just how much the advancement in technology has made so many forms of internet security a joke. This isn't to say that everyone is going to be hacked now. It is still unlikely due to the hacker needing to be very determined to take said account. And yes, having a different and more secure e-mail does help in the matter as well. However, you can never be too careful and take every step of security you can afford is a wise choice.

As for the disconnects maybe the issue is my entire screen will freeze up when it loses connection and NEVER connect back unless the client closes. I know it DC's for a fact as well because everyone in the party says my character left even before the client closed. I once tried to wait to see if it would fix itself at any point but nope. I waited 30 min when I saw my net connection give out and it never went back to the log in screen. Just stayed there frozen. I guess I just have bad luck.

A 6 character password with

A 6 character password with lowercase, capital, number, and a single character for 10 generally accepted punctuation marks would take about 3 years to attack brute force. Assuming that 3 rings can see such behaviour, such as 10 failed logins or too many attempts too fast, it's easy to prevent the hacking from the user side. Make a strong password and use a secure e-mail and knowledge of your username is useless.

Security is there to keep

Security is there to keep honest people honest, just like how the lock on your door won't do much to stop a committed thief.

Unfortunately disconnects can be difficult to get standard across all computers. I could be a wonky Java setting or a temperamental network adapter. Reconnecting on my desktop is painless, but my laptop throws a small hissy-fit because if my internet drops it just invents a new network to connect to. (Almost all my disconnects are self induced my local network tweaks and living where people like their torrents)

Hmm. I am not 100% sure on

Hmm. I am not 100% sure on the statistics itself but I was told by many that those numbers were reduced to hours instead of years. Though maybe some of them were jumping the gun and just predicting seeing as none of them are actually hackers and just computer security workers. (Well one was a teach himself kind of programmer but you get the point.)

Then there is the issue of having close personal friends having their accounts on other games hacked even when taking all of these proper security measures. It can happen. But it isn't highly likely if you at least try to keep everything secure.

I will give them this much, you can only fail on the log in for the website once and then you have to wait to try again. The game however seems to not be connected to this and has more fail attempts allowed. How many is allowed though, I do not know.

I know it isn't the end of the world that people know my username, but I just feel more secure if they do not know it.

-Edit-
Ah I see. Maybe I can try reinstalling the game and see if it helps at all?
