Anyone else?
Spiral Knights connection really laggy Sunday Night
Yup. Been like this for a few days, for me.
It's really annoying, cuz I'm dying more cuz of it.
Horde of enemies + bad lag/freezing + bed of spikes everywhere = dead.
Not to mention my equipment sucks trash. Everything is so darn expensive in this game.
I used to have a merry old time running solo for all of Tier 1, and then earlier in Tier 2. But lately, it's been pure hell running Tier 2, solo, so I have to rely on my friends to get through. It's good to have friends, but when they already got a group of 4, or I'm just wanting to be left alone.... it sucks majorly.
Lagging SINCE Sunday night for me. Which sucks because I finished a crafting batch last week and I wanted to use this week to level that gear up.
My other games run fine, my web runs fine, it's just SK that's being a little dink with me.
Only since Sunday? I've been lagging in this game from their servers since day 1. The game will hiccup and stutter and get me and/or my teammates killed requiring unnecessary energy spending. I wish they'd upgrade their servers.
If you've been lagging since day 1, it's probably your connection to the servers that is bad.
You should try the suggestions in this wiki article.
I've tried all those. I have a great internet connection (18Mbps/2Mbps), I have 8gig DDR3 1600, an AMD Phenom x2 Black edition 3.3ghz (which I've unlocked into a tri-core), and a Geforce 560TI graphics card. All my firmware and drivers are up to date. I'm hardwired to my router and I've never had more than 3 bars of latency on the game. I'll just get these hiccups where the game like pauses for half a second on my screen but whatever forward motion I had will continue and monsters will still be able to react to me whereas I cannot react to them.
I live in Washington state so I don't see why this should be happening. I just did the port forwarding last night so when I have a chance to play later tonight I'll see if it helped. If not, any suggestions?
I'm assuming that you/anyone on your wireless network is not downloading stuff/watching Netflix etc, so that's not what is affecting your performance.
Being hardwired to your router may fix any signal issues, but if your router is not handling game traffic properly, you'll still experience that.
Try the port forwarding, for sure.
If that doesn't help, try the game when hardwired to your modem with no router in the equation at all.
If your performance is better then, it has something to do with your router. If performance is NOT better then, you're either playing exclusively at high-traffic times of the day, or your ISP is doing something ridiculous.
That's all I got. :/
I make sure I have it hardwired into the modem as well. I have Charter which has usually been a really solid connection. However, I just did a ping test from pingtest.net over to Washington, DC and it continues to have a bit of packet loss giving me a ping of around 102ms and on the charter ping test it's giving me 12.8Mbps down and 818kbps up :(
edit: thank you for trying to work through this with me Providence :)
Haven't noticed anything wrong
