Oh no, some newer players are MAKING cr off CE!? ridiculous, they should be losing money when they dive through the clockworks! afterall, who wants to play the game. We'd rather sit in haven playing the market right?
Do you know how little incentive there is to play with anything other than mist already? If it gets higher than 7k it'll be a joke. I love this game but ive already relegated myself to mist only as investing all that time into the clockworks for 1-2000cr isn't worth it at all
Why can't people want a happy medium, you make good gains when CE is around 6k so why be so greedy?
Be careful what you wish for as you might just get it.
Could CE prices go that high? Apparently they already did for a while , according to some of the veteran players. I've no reason to doubt them, because no one has disputed those claims.
Could CE stay at that price? Doubtful, since even uber leet 5* players doing Vana runs would struggle to break even, the demand would solely come from people crafting, the demand is less instant, people can wait for the price to fall.
If such a surge happened, I may well try and profit from it, and probably hope for an even bigger crash down to 2k cr to buy cheap CE. What I really want though is a relatively stable market (somewhere between 5.5kcr and 6.5kcr would be fine) with a healthy gap between the highest bid and lowest offer to sell (3-4% of the lowest offer would be fantastic e.g. 6300 highest bid /6500 lowest offer)
Prices did go up to 8k cr per 100, but that was before the crown nerf in dungeons. 8k now would be worse than 8k then
I think this is all I can remember of what big changes that affected CE prices. It really is pretty horrible that OOO decides to increase the demand for CE. They did the job of making 5* items more rare than before and increased CE prices alongside it. It will put off a lot of players who used to play this game and potential new players who just feels like this game is way too grinding. Besides the CE buyers who can easily get more crowns to use on Punch, these changes OOO released makes the game more and more grindy by making everything needed to advance in this game cost more time. With the next few months, we should expect a lower population playing this game due to these changes because I don't think the average player wants more grinding.
==================================
CE Prices increase from
- 4* - 5* items are now bind upon crafted (They used to unbind upon crafted). Vise offers to unbind for a ton of energy and demand for CE rises. It costs a large amount of CE to bind, making it a very big energy sink. (5* unbind costs 4000 CE).
- Update that changed the energy required to craft items and lowered crown prices for alchemy. Demand for CE prices. Demand for crowns fall.
3* item 100 CE / 5500 crown -> 200 CE / 4000 crown
4* item 200 CE / 15000 crown -> 400 CE / 2500 crown
5* item 300 CE / 45000 crown -> 800 CE / 5000 crown
- Power Surge Weekends lead to increase demand for CE and weaken the value of crowns by increasing the rate of crown production.
- Panic investors who want to increase the value of their wealth by storing it in CE. Demand for CE increases, but this demand is artificial and we should expect a minor crash if this happens.
==================
CE Prices drop from
- CE giveaways. More CE added to the game will lower its value.
- Decrease crowns given to Jelly King Runs. Less crowns given = each crown is worth more because there are less in the game. Crowns become slightly more scarce or more valuable, depending on if the glass is half empty or half full.
- More players joining the game. When Spiral Knights went on steam, prices of CE dropped by a lot.
- Punch offers UV variants for crowns. it takes crowns away from the game and make them less and more valuable.
Punch could be a better crown sink if it wasn't such a gamble. You pay your crowns and there is a good chance that all you'll get is a low uv which may even be useless. People figured that out pretty quickly and the Krogmo trinkets made Punch's service even less useful. Why waste a heap of crowns trying to get a good uv, when you can either grind BN for coins or pay around 20kcr for 2 mod calibrators + 4* and 5* crafting to get an elite whatever trinket which will work with all of that class of weapon (bombs, swords or guns) rather than just one weapon.
If people could specify the uv that they wanted, maybe they'd use Punch more. Perhaps you could have a sliding scale... low uv would be cheap and maximum could be very expensive. I'm not sure how much people would pay, but I'm guessing it would be quite a lot. Punch could then be the crown sink that's needed to counter the high demand for CE.
Those with 4* and some skill can make over 8k with 80 energy with the 4 arenas in the Emerald Sun gate's T2 without selling mats, so it's not unreasonable.
