I recently acquired a ash tail coat with a maximum elemental UV, I plan on making this into a vog coat, but before I do Im worried that it will be wasted since Vog's elemental defense is so high, Will my max ele uv giv it more then a High Uv or would both max out its elemental defense either way?

The bars are inaccurate. It goes beyond what is shown and thus it would give more Elemental defense; whether or not Piercing, Normal, and a bit of Elemental is better than Normal and Elemental+ is up to you.

*Please note that the

*Please note that the following is based on experience and is then speculative and not factually proven*

It depends entirely on what your helmet will be. Experience seems to suggest that defense has diminishing returns so elemental max on a vog coat will be less influential than elemental max on a skolver coat. Additionally I've found that once you get to a certain threshold, somewhere between 1/3 and 2/3 of the entire defense bar, it seems you are granted extraordinary moments of defense. For instance, I've take Trojan hits while at a pip and a half, much less than what I've seen Trojan hits do to me while at full Hp, and survived at a pip.

As far as I can tell, if you get enough of a certain defense, attacks that would normally kill you from an attack of that certain damage type will leave you at the brink of death.

In conclusion, as far as I can tell, I would rather a Skolver coat with Elemental Max than a Vog coat with Elemental Max.

@Gemini, I've noticed a lot

@Gemini, I've noticed a lot that when you're low on health, you always survive a hit with at least 1 bar of health, then after that, next time you get hit, you die.

Death resistance?

But... but I've died after being hit while I had 1 1/2 bars, 2 bars, 3 bars... etc.

Also I always thought T2 lumbers do 1/2 of health in damage, and T3 lumbers cut it down to 1...

My argument is that you need

My argument is that you need to be past a certain amount of defense against a certain type for attacks of that type to have a 'saving grace' and leave you with 1 pip. Perhaps those were piercing attacks and you were wearing full Vog?

That might make sense Gemini.

That might make sense Gemini. I've never known why it happened, but I see it happen a lot. I'm on like 1.5 bars, get hit and expect to be dead, and whaddyaknow, still alive.

I have no shadow defense, but I experience the same thing you described Gemini. This is being hit by zombies in FSC. Not sure what to make of that..

zombies do normal and shadow,

zombies do normal and shadow, that's assuming what you have noticed is actually what you think it is, if the hit is shielded but the shield breaks you get damaged less for that hit, and next hit would do full damage since you have no shield left :P

Close.

@Gemini: Actually it's shadow attacks when I was wearing full Nameless. So that's why I experience it a lot when being hit by a Lumber...
