If Volcanic Plate Helm and Mail have elemental resist, why doesn't Volcanic Plate Shield have any? They are the same set aren't they and the aren't the same set supposed to have the same properties?
Also, there are parts of Vanaduke fight that do deal Elemental Damage like lava tiles, Vanaduke's lava balls (not sure about this one but I think it does deal Elemental) and the bullets at his mask stage。

VPS is da best.
Volcanic plate shield is more than just a shield. It's a titanium wall designed to keep zombies from feasting on your brain.
I rolled a High Elem resist on ma VPS, and im more than happy with the shield.

because the volcanic plate shield doesn't reduce your asi like the other two, and if it had elemental defense, no one would ever use any other shield in the game.
Because Volcanic Plate Shield was tailored for the Vanaduke fight, and you don't really need ele for that.
