I believe this game is great, innovative and fun. It also reminds of Zelda Legend of Four Swords. But i was wondering why is there only 1 class? I understand that it is called Spiral Knights meaning that the only class is a knight, but i think the game would be much more fun if there was a rogue class, mage ( that heals and does damage) and archer.
Add some classes
Yeah just add diff weapon types.
buddy decided to go with a "shooter class" by useing only ranged weps
I always thought there was a caster of sorts missing. Think Tendeerfoot, Ironclaw and Darkfang Menders. You get a staff that can cast magic (shoots basically like a gun), doing fire, ice, shock, dark etc... magic. I would really like to see something of a healer class, although I could see this making fighting through the clockworks a bit too easy.
:o i can see some staffs for healer type characters and they can swithch between weps whenever have low health it would be a pretty good solo set up and support obviously the staff can only heal
I think having more weapons would be a great idea, i do believe having bows is an awesome weapon. Having cool arc looks with lazer strings, or cross bows :). boomerangs, grappling hooks, ninja stars and the list goes on lol.
Our weapons make our "Classes". There is no need for an official class designation. And this game is a bit inspired by Zelda as you have noticed, but did you forget..there are no classes in Zelda. Link switches items to switch what he can do, whether that's use bombs, bows, or swords, its just a simple inventory click away. But as the others have suggested, more weapons with abilities could be useful if done right.
Having an upgrade to the Wrench Wand that only has a charge attack which can heal a nearby ally would be great, as well as a Silkwing Vaporizer or something that would serve as a short area heal. They'd have to have pretty slow charge times to make up for being invaluable as all hell but the concept of somebody playing emergency medic when everybody's in a pinch and about to die is nice to have.
Classes all on their own, though, is a bad idea; being able to freeform swap between close-range combat, gunslinging and demolition squad duty is one of this game's strongest points. That said, you can at least fake one by equipping armor and trinkets that enhance what you wanna do.
Rather than introduce new classes, they should just make a larger variety of weapons.
Classless design is always more dynamic and interesting.
