What you think?

I wanted to give everyone a heads up on some upcoming price changes. These prices will likely go into effect with our next patch.

Krogmo Coin Rewards
Mod Calibrators will increase from 50 to 75 Krogmo Coins.

Punch's Variant Forge
1 Variant Tickets will increase from 15,000 to 20,000 crowns
3 Variant Tickets will greatly decrease from 375,000 to 225,000 crowns

Funny, the changes Nick

Funny, the changes Nick mentioned didn't have anything to do with CE at all. What is up with your thread title. Is it a glitch?

Anyway, I don't like the 1 variant ticket change as hardly anyone uses it already. But the 3 variant ticket change... *thumbs up*

Hardly anyone uses the 1

Hardly anyone uses the 1 variant? Do you even play SK? The 1 variant is the ONLY one sane people even use, the 2 and 3 are just a waste of CR for Low/Low or Low/Low/Low.

I might actually try the 3-variant ticket now

but only on very high-end items

The increase in 1 variant

The increase in 1 variant ticket will mean more want for crowns, so big Rage-Punchers will need to sell more CE in order to get the crowns. I think its good... hopefully it lowers the exchange to a steady 6k. It will also mean Bigger Rage-punchers will head for the triple UV decreasing market exhange further. HOPEFULLY it stops them spam CE threads which are infuriating me atm.

dc bout the mod calibrators, got my trinkets -> but it'll mean a bigger profit from those who grind to get them.

Hooray for balancing.. NOW BALANCE MY IRONTECH!!!

@Bexar:

I don't know, we don't even use that one and just "rage craft". Raising the price is not going to encourage us to do it... :D

Oh well, I guess I should go out more...

Not sure how ce price will

Not sure how ce price will react but one thing for sure the price of 3 u.v. item is surely falling. That's a big drop in price, 150k crown to be exact.

Anyway the prize will drop

Anyway the prize will drop again. All want to craft NOW because of the change OR they need money to craft it after ;)

They failed to state

"Increased Chance for Higher UV's"

so basically this update said to me "SCREW YOUR ONE VARIANT BUY THREE CRAP ONES NOW!!!!"

Oh and "STOP FARMING MOD CALS....your breaking the system!"

Tleilax
The reason why mod cals are

The reason why mod cals are farmed are because they are the only item that is not bound, recipes are untradable, and you cannot even unbind them. Same I believe with costume masks.

The phrasing of the OP makes

The phrasing of the OP makes it sound like EpicYarn is speaking for OOO, however, there is nothing under their name that indicates they are actually an OOO employee. Have I missed something here?

OK, assuming that EpicYarn knows what OOO is releasing, I don't see how either the mod calibrator change nor the Punch change will have much impact on CE, so the title of the thread is a little surprising. The Punch change could just as easily result in less crowns being sunk as more. People may well use Punch more than 33% less, offsetting the 33% price increase. Even with the price drop, I don't see people using the 3-UV option enough to have an impact.

Edit: oh, I see what happened, EpicYarn copied an announcement without indicating that.

The announcement by nick is

The announcement by nick is here http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/23122 changes coming online in the next patch release, (not sure if thats the daily reboot).

This update is probably

This update is probably designed so people won't spam 1 variant tickets on an item over and over again and make 3 variant tickets more attractive to everyone. Less people using 1 variant tickets and more people using 3 variant tickets. It shouldn't really affect the total amount of crowns are sunk by Punch because more people using 3 variant and less people using 1 variant should kind of balance out.

Mod Calibrator update is probably designed to slow everyone down in getting their PvP trinkets. Play more Bomberman!

After reading this update my thoughts were the same as some from above: more people were spamming the 1 variant ticket so increase that price and few people were using the 3 variant ticket so lower that price. Overall I'm bummed some because I would rather spam the single ticket variant multiple times to get one UV I want rather than a multiple ticket once and get Low-Low

So in a last ditch effort I decided to load up SK and punch my shivermist one last time BAM CTR Very High. So for inspiring me to use punch one last time I am thankful, will save my 5k cr in the future though

No...

5k more for a possible low UV? A low UV I might not even want, at that? No thanks.

Madfruitz
It's only 5k more, i honestly

It's only 5k more, i honestly don't see a lot of people who were previously using it opting to not use it any longer..it's still their best option by far. It's a pretty smart way to get players to use their crowns more (on something other than CE)

meh

i think the 3 UV is a good move. i think the 1 being raised is a bad move.
I see this having no affect on CE prices.

"Increased Chance for Higher UV's"

??? Where is this written?? o.O

Why not just cut to the chase

Why not just cut to the chase and make Punch sell UV upgrades, add another variant and change UV level, changing it to Maximum could be something insane like 2,000,000 per variant. People would get what they wanted and it would really sink those crowns from the top end.

The problem with all SK thing is when you have them you got them, introducing variant wear would be nice, the higher level the variant the faster it wears down to the next lower level, until it gets to a "low" variant. That would mean players would have to keep coming back to punch to top things up. And use of these service would never be complete.

Arctic-Fern's picture
Arctic-Fern
Well..

I don't know, the "variant erosion" model would make getting high variants useless and everyone would just be content with low.

What about the people who already had Max? Do you expect them to agree to your "variant erosion" scheme!?

I MEAN COME ON! 2 trinket upgrades + 2 weapons upgrades is already expensive enough to pay for monthly!

I will +1 the "adjust your variant scheme" though if it's obscenely expensive AND costs crowns.

Abathur's picture
Abathur
That would be completly

That would be completly stupid ... You actually gain ø 8000 Crowns for a T3 run. You loose allways money because of the Weapon and Tinkerslots, also you sometimes don't want to play just one run a day ...

I would like to see something like a Casino for reducing CE. You just can win 50% of the Crowns all other player spend. For example, joining a Game with 4 Players cost 1000, winning gives you 2000 and all other lost everything.

Who cares!

Lowering the 3 varient price, Who cares. Wow now it just cost me 150000crs less to get 3 low variants I dont want than before. I was seriously considering trying to say up for the 3 variant ticket until I stopped and thought about it for a second and realized that after I invested all that time and money I's probably get 3 low variants that suck. So yeah now I'm just gonna save up and keep doing the 1 Variant till i get one i want. Bummed though that in a few its gonna cost more. There goes OOO always screwing me right before I do what everyone else has done.
