I'm a new player here. I really like playing this game but every time i lag or freeze, my computer shuts off and restarts. It happens every single time.. I have nothing else up, just Spiral Knights. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me??

Its Windows BSODing and rebooting. If you check the windows event logs, it should show the crash times and the bug check that caused it.
Are we taking bets on bug check and module?

What's this?
Maybe it was the one crashing my old laptop when I have 2 pieces of RAM in it...
(note: the RAM sticks are of the same brand, speed and size)
...the graphics card was a variant of ATI Mobility Radeon...
Can you guys tell me about this issue?

0xC0000005 is a generic
0xC0000005 is a generic memory access violation when a program or dll points to an address it doesn't have permission to or doesn't exist. With this game, it happens a lot in the ATI OGL drivers. Not sure why, but some think it could be related to CatAI.

You need to check Windows
You need to check Windows Event log to find out why its rebooting. Otherwise we're just gonna run in circles guessing.

Assuming Win7 or Vista...
Assuming Win7 or Vista... Start, and type "management" in the search bar at the bottom, and select "computer management" on the top of the list. It may prompt you for admin rights, so hit yes.
From the new window, expand System Tools, Event Viewer, Windows logs. You have to manually search the System logs for red "error" entries. I forget the detailed description, but it should say something along the lines of "Windows encountered an error" or "System crash"

Do you notice your computer getting unusually hot while playing? (like torgdor is burnating hot)
Also, have you made sure that your graphics drivers and Java installation are up to date?
