Heavy Hatchet Model - Reuse, or craft to 5*

I just recently saw a new player with a Heavy Hatchet while I was on a Snarby run, and I remembered that the only other time I had seen one was my very first day of playing, some five or six months ago.

It's an incredibly aggressive looking sword with the standard slow animations, and I'd like to see the model reused/improved upon and carried out to 5*. The Troika line was built to 5* by popular demand, but I'd imagine very few of you even remember what the Heavy Hatchet even looks like. It's a 250cr recipe - buy one, build it, and do a T1 run with it. Tonnes of fun.

What do you think, OOO? Can you build me a 5* sword modeled after the Heavy Hatchet? Give it an aura or some more stripes, a bit of added length, whatever, but can you build it?

Thanks,

Casspir

What dark ritual?

Apparently no one else shares my love for the Heavy Hatchet model. Oh well. I'll keep carrying mine into the Clockworks, then, and ineffectively murdering things with it. :)

I put up a thread for this.

I put up a thread for this. The actual heavy hatchet is basicaly a noob trokia, but the art needs to be reused.

Eh, i can't decide who to agree with so...

I think that the Winmil and Heavy Hatchet 5* ideas are... Good.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 5* sword that looked like a heavy hatchet; it was my favorite sword back when i was T1/T2. Although I'd rather there be a new sword that mimics the model instead of just building the hatchet up. As far as I know there is no 5* piece of gear that started at 1*, and it should stay that way.

<insert witty comment here>

I didn't use any of the Noob weapons when I first started (instead I did my research on equipment available and went for Wolver set and cutter), but Heavy Hatchet does look pretty cool. Not sure if it's cool enough to warrant it's own 5* though.

@Misty-Wellington

Not with THAT attitude, it won't!

Slap on some cool effects, retexture it, toss on a jet engine, MAYBE make it cracked and bolted together, and BAM. You've got a repurposed weapon made from a repurposed tool made from a repurposed kitchen utensil made from a repurposed tool.

Repurposely, of course.

Some weapons are just so alone.

IMO they should clean up all of the 0* and 1* weapons.

Remember the Bolted Blade? Doubt it, I bet only a handful of people ever had one. Looks like a dilapidated old Brandish-y thing, no upgrade, 1*. Up its stats, make it a 2* and bam, you got yourself a new sword line fitting in with the others. Poor old Cautery Sword, sitting there all 3* and underpowered. Make it shadow, less powerful than Nightblade but with vs Slime VH/Ultra, and you have a very powerful weapon for RJP. Give it upgrades while you're at it. Beast Basher, Hot Edge, Robo Wrecker, Static Edge. And those are only the swords with multiple items in their alchemy line! Bombs and guns are all nice and complete, unless they're standalone.

Armors, though, we have the Breaker sets incomplete, along with their Edge swords and shields. Speaking of the Breaker shields, they're nice proof 1* items cannot evolve into 2* and above - the breaker shields go from 1* to 3* in their lines. How special! Vitasuits too, we have the 0* Vitasuit, 2* Vitasuit Plus, and the 4* Vitasuit Deluxe - the latter beside part of the Cobalt Armor line.

Don't forget standalone items, too. All those perfectly good guns gone to waste - Punch, Frost, Stun and Pummel Guns, along with the Spitfire and Zapper. The intriguingly nice concept of blast bomb-type bombs with statuses attached. Do you know how much fun I had just a few days ago, with a Cold Snap, playing a late Tier 2 mission with a coordinated party? Don't forget the Firecracker and Static Flash though. The Fencing Jacket and Cyclops Caps were such nice concepts, introducing damage boosts to new players, though their future is limited, sadly, since their effects are taken by the Wolver and Gunslinger sets respectively. The Spiral Scale Set, too - a nice concept. Things like the Iron Buckler and Mining Cap were rather unneeded, though. So many swords with nice models which were used once and never again! Hatchet, Beast Basher, Slime Slasher, Robo Wrecker, and the poor aforementioned Bolted Blade would all like a word with OOO.

Most of the weapons you suggested have 5* versions, even if they are not directly upgraded from the original line. Those weapons were meant to stay at a low level, because they are strong noob weapons. During the tiers that they are first used, they are some of the strongest weapons you can have, which is the reason they do not upgrade past 1*. Most of the current 5* gear starts at 2* or 3*, meaning that you have to at least be averagely strong and experienced to acquire them. If we had ALL of the noob weapons upgrade directly into 5* versions, then players would not learn the importance of choosing usability now, or complete power later; practicality over end game usefulness. It would make the game much simpler than it needs to be.

I agree that some of those weapons could use more powerful forms however. For example, the Firecracker, Cold Snap, and Static flash are quite useful and would be a great addition to the 5* family of blast bombs, as long as their status effects and chance of occurrence were less than that of a mist bomb. The Wrench wand could use a 5* only version as a reward from a future Crimson Order expansion mission. The breakers could use a 4* version, but they are too similar to other sets to be a viable end game armor. The Ignition set could possibly go up to 3* to rival the breaker sets.
