According to wiki lumber does elemental damage. Plus he splits stun effect. I have Wise Owlite Shield that has elemental defence and UV stun med. So why lumber breakes my shield with 2nd hit? And he does damage + stun at same time he breakes shield... That annoys me. What shield would be better vs that bastard?

The owlite line has the
The owlite line has the highest defense against elemental dmg of any of the shields. Sounds to me like you need to work on crafting up to the grey owlite shield and work on not getting hit as much :/

lumbers are slow hard-hitting
lumbers are slow hard-hitting monster, it's best to avoid them by circling around them and attacking from the back than use shield.

Well yes I know, but talking about several lumbers that hits at same time and u cant avoid them. But I forgot I have perfect weapon vs them - pulsar. It knocks them back and kills from range.
Thinking about swiftstrike or barbarous thorn shield. Both good for swordsmen. And I would like to have piercing defence on shield cuz alpha wolvers and jk breakes it pretty fast. But maybe I will stick with my Owlite cuz its good vs gun puppies that spawns at almost every map.
And another question - does that med stun UV helps? Or I should erase it with crafting to 5* and if I don't get any - roll it?

Swiftstrike is an awesome
Swiftstrike is an awesome modifier. It makes both swords and guns faster. However, it is a very poor shield. Swiftstrike is godlike in Tier1, I love it in T2 to speed up slow swords, but if you plan on using it in T3 you better have moves like a ninja...
I am currently upgrading my Twisted Targe for JK runs and plan to use an Owlite line shield for endgame FSC runs (some argue VPS for the duke fight, but Grey Owlite seems better for everything but a duke mace hit).

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a twisted targe in JK.
Also, 2 hits from a lumber is good. Before I realized that the shield is the single most important upgrade in the game for a swordsman, I was getting my shield broken in 1 hit in tier 3.

Some results
I tried a few shields vs. Lumbar at D19.
Grey Owlite and Barb Thorn both broke on 2nd hit and did a small amount of damage.
Volcanic Plate Shield (UV Normal High) broke on the 3rd hit but did a great deal of damage. I think that it was so weak after the second hit that the third hit was barely deflected so I took a lot of damage.
Lumbers are really slow, predictable and have a long attack warning. So what I do is get them to strike, dodge the attack then hit them from behind. When dodging around the Lumber, stay on their weak side - the side that has the small non-attack arm.
The are very weak to fire, so setting them ablaze works well (Ash of Agni, Combuster, FoV, whatever...)
If I have a gun on me, I'll kite them - safe and easy way to kill Lumbers.

However, the best Shield is atm the Owlite, but it seems to get pnished badly, same as Voc Cub. They no longer implement Elementary units, there comes much more piercing and shadow mobs -> see the new turrets. Owlite vs Howlizer >.< breaks so fast.
I just build myself a Skelly Shield and a Crest of Almire. I guess these 3 will be the best by far. Maybe in future some pierce / ele or ele / shadow oder shadow / pierce shield.
Elementary damage is the easiest to avoid i think. Dunno if its really good to place the shield there. I guess Shadow kills me much more often!
And rocket puppy is tough too. In T3 he breakes my shield fast too... So what shields whould be better then Owlite?
