Got bored at work and started reading the lore section on the wiki. I've deduced that it is Vog who vanaduke the way he is now. It says the after the fall of almire, vana went and found a cave where he met a powerful fire spirit that transformed him into a giant hairy fireburn victim. Under the big lore, it says he is a powerful fire spirit. Coincidence? I think not. Maybe even, Vog wanted vana to seal the water sprites to achieve some ulterior motive... I'll leave the rest to the development team. Gosh I hope this isn't in any of the fan-fics.

More interesting, though, is that once you destroy Vanaduke's mask, you can see an empty black space with two glowing eyes where his face should be. Y'know, kinda like the faces on the knights that we play as.
noticed that once. even though i didn;t fight him before. im still tier 2.
anyways, i have a theaory that the SPiral Dudes came from cradle, and vanny was one of them, but the vanny killed everyone but some of them escaped on a spaceship and landed on a new planet. and forgot all about their history magically. (read more about it in mai fanfic Let the Flames Begin. Sort of. I haven't gotten to the part yet, but I plan to. dang, i keep giving away parts of mai story plan)
and the vog/vanny thing is interesting.

maybe the twin brother of the vog, except for fire, its ice.
maybe in the core there is the Vog and Skolver having a war and you have to pick sides to help. and new types of vog wolvers and skolver wolvers enemies are introduced. maybe the snarby is related to the vog and skolver. cause they both seem to be mutant wolvers or something.
It is perhaps worth noting that the Fang of Vog is a token reward for defeating Vanaduke. Additionally...

Vog is thought to be a beast-like god. Vanaduke's claws and fur would suggest a relation to this same being.

Vanaduke may have been blessed/cursed by Vog, and he may also be the same species as the knights that we play as. (This could be why he doesn't count as Fiend, Undead, or Beast-- he's human! Or... whatever passes for human in this world.)
