How does attack speed increase work? I have a unique cutter with attack speed increase medium, and I'm not sure what this does to the weapon anymore. Does it stop when I get to the top of the attack speed bar, or is it just a calculation and it can't be shown onscreen?

i think for that particular

i think for that particular variant, the speed stat would just be higher (and/or have a higher max value with leveling up) than the non-variant version, right?

There really needs to be

There really needs to be "advanced" view options to tell what is going on. Subjective values aren't really useful, nor quantifiable.

Does attack speed increase

Does attack speed increase decrease the delay within a combo, does it decrease the relay between combos, or does it do both?

this might be another topic

this might be another topic altogether, but as far as im aware there are three variant types:

- increased effectiveness towards monster type (low / med / high varieties)
- increased life points (not sure what the max number is) -- this is actually a guess, its a potential item attribute, so i imagine it also appears as a variant
- increased [stat] (low / med / high varieties) -- this could be elemental / normal / piercing / shadow resistance, status resistances, wqeapon speed, etc.. -- anything that shows as a visible stat bar on the items details.

based on what ive seen (which certainly isnt everything), the stat type variants would actually have a visible impact on the stat bar, but only noticable when compared to a non-variant version of the weapon. the effectiveness is a blind stat, so i imagine its hard to tell what the damage increase is.. and the increased life points you would see on your health bar.

these are only positive weapon attributes. i know there are negative ones, do those ever show up as a variant? that would suck :)

Just to eleborate a little

Just to eleborate a little more, does the stat increase past the graphical limitations of the bar for attack speed, or does it have a upper limit when calculating the end value?

if you had a weapon that the

if you had a weapon that the base version had max attack speed, and you had an increased attack speed variant, i would think it might start off higher than normal but the cap might still be the same (because it hits a max value). hard to say without speculation though

It would be nice if we had

It would be nice if we had one of the programmers explain this, same with if it is a percentage increase or a predetermined amount.

We asked

We asked a long time ago.
If I remember correctly, damage/speed/charge bonuses are %. Defensive bonuses are +X.
If the stat displays "maximum" when you hoover over your gear it means it reached the cap.
There also is a aspd cap, so some weapons are less useful with aspd bonuses.

The main question is it

The main question is it additive or multiplicitive? Sounds like its additive with the lack of gear slots
