Announce a time frame, or an intention, to fix the lag issue

Everyone has a death because of lag, and I've on several occasions (right now being one of them) had to stop playing until the lag passes.

It's clear that the problem isn't our internet connections, or our computer's ability to properly run the game.

It would make me and I'm sure others feel better if the problem was at least addressed by someone ... recognized, and hopefully, when the necessary hardware changes are going to be made to fix the problem.

Can I get a witness

lag or latency can be caused

lag or latency can be caused on any part of the pathways your computer takes to communicate with the server. for all we know, it could be OOO or it could outside of OOO's jurisdiction

I have also witnessed lag!

I have also witnessed lag and it also isn't my connection or computer. My guild has been pretty laggy lately.

I've heard that they haven't

I've heard that they haven't expanded or upgraded their servers since beta

My question is more coming from a when are they going to make more or better servers part of their overhead, or ... if

Lag is an extremely complex

Lag is an extremely complex issue because there are a LOT of things between the game client and the game server. At least part of the chain is:
Game client--->Steam (if applicable)--->computer--->wireless router--->modem--->ISP filters--->ISP--->Possible switch of ISPs--->Game servers

And then, things have to go back from the game servers, through that chain, to get to you. If anything in that chain is functioning substandardly, lag will be noticeable.

Part of the problem is that the game's servers are hosted with Amazon----as you know, Amazon gets a LOT of traffic. Hosting with Amazon is cheaper than hosting their own servers, which is part of the reason that buying CE is optional and not mandatory to play the game, but it also means that if anything is happening at Amazon, SK suffers.

There's also the possibility that your ISP is throttling your connection during peak hours. Game traffic tends to be low on the priority list. If you're geographically distant from the Amazon servers, your connection will suffer. If your router or computer's internet card has inefficient software or is out of date, your performance will suffer.

In short...lag isn't that simple.
If you could document specific places and conditions in-game that are extra laggy when other places aren't that'd be an awesome thing to put in a bug report. Unfortunately, just making a suggestion to fix the lag does not provide the devs with enough information.

Very informative post. I'm

Very informative post. I'm aware of those details though, believe it or not, and all of the technical details honestly, are not why I posted. This isn't a bug report, this is a suggestion. :D

To put it another way, I'm suggesting that OOO be more communicative with the player base about it.

It's a perfectly reasonable thing to ask the staff what they are doing on their end to fix a very annoying problem. If they can honestly and definitively say that in most cases it has nothing to do with their servers or their programming, that's fine, I just want to hear it.

From a developer standpoint,

From a developer standpoint, its not wise to announce a time table until your around 90% of our goal. Issues can be more complex then expected, changes can cause side effects that need to be dealt with, and in rare cases, you have to back track because of another problem.

While I still believe accountability is important... when you start including the general population, accountability gets turned into a witch hunt.

I can understand that,

I can understand that, actually, I did consider the fact that the devs hands are tied over the whole thing.

But I still had to post the grievance
