I'm confused on how they work, a full charged attack from my weapon deals less damage than a single normal strike. Why is this so? Am I doing something wrong?

What weapon are you using,

What weapon are you using, I've never seen a charged hit do less than a normal attack. I could easily be wrong though.
maybe doing less than a combo but not less than a single attack

Only thing I could think of

Only thing I could think of is that the charged attack does some kind of elemental damage that the monster is resistant to and the normal attack doesn't? Is there weapons that do this even?

Ahh

I'm using spur. The charged attack deals 23, but the normal deals 34. The charged attack is a projectile, and it can go through enemies. That must be why it's so weak.

Yes, the charged attack on

Yes, the charged attack on the Spur can hit a monster 2-3 times if they get caught in the push-back. If you happen to hit a monster with the blade it does the appropriate amount of charge damage.

Spur's charge attack

Additionally, the charge attack with the Spur line is very weak, and rather useless. The Spur series should be the only weapons where the charge does not do more damage than a normal strike, as the charge is not a melee hit. With Winmillion, the charge attack should do double the damage of one of the disc blades.
Charge attacks usually effectively inflict double the damage of the weapon's normal hit.
