So as you may be able to see i havent been playing very long but i have a very stong anoyance for one monster. It's not just me ,other players hate
bats. There are many reasons why we hate them:
1#
They are incredibly fast and follow you around if you try to get away.
2#
Your do not have time to counter attack.
Now i will go ahead with the major reasons:
-In this game monsters usually have a ballance; if they do alot of damage they move slower,if they move fast they dont do as much damage. But with the bat it hits hard, follows you, and will quickly strike again.
-Now not only are annoying but they often come in large quantities; in venom fang arena for example, they come in large amounts, whitch makes them harder to meelee because they're all on you. I have mighty cobalt armor, archeron, heavy plate shield and they're still hard to kill.
-Also i notice that when you fight bats you mostly dont have very much room to move away (if you can move away), so it gets you really up close and personal with them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They are a good addition to the game but they do have room for improvement.
Sincerily,
Lightsmith

3rd room arenas are the only

3rd room arenas are the only places I find these to be a bit overwhelming (and then only if they spawn in the last phase). Otherwise you tend to not be under the same kind of intense pressure and these enemies are very easily knocked out of their attack animations with basic sword attacks.

Devilities tend to be a lot more threatening at the very least.

How to beat Greavers: 1)

How to beat Greavers:

1) Attack.

That's all. Greaver's are insanely weak. One swing of a Divine Avenger will kill a Greaver. Sweeping around with a flourish devastates Greavers. Pretty much anything besides shadow damage will kill a Greaver.

Basically, get a different weapon besides a Acheron.

Bane of Greavers

I present to you, the Cutter-line swords. They swat greavers like no other. A fast 5-swing sword, each swing landing an additional blow for up to 10 hits in one combo, allowing you to swiftly disable a pack of greavers in a heartbeat. Since greavers flinch upon taking damage, this is the ideal sword for dealing with greavers. The divine avenger is not so cool to have when they sweep behind you and evade your swing.

I used to struggle a lot with the greavers but you only have to hit them once to stop their attack. so when they get near me i try to strike once and then shield cancel then strike another then shiled cancel and keep trying to cancel out all their attackes.
don't ever try for the final swing of your swords combo as this leaves you defenceless for too long.
this works well enough with the calibur line but even better with faster weapons such as the cutter and flourish lines:)

Interestingly enough the Haze Bomb series are actually quite effective in dealing with Greavers (the bats). I was testing out different ways to deal with them that weren't swords, which by the way is the preferred method of killing them. Shock while a fun applicable status doesn't reliably slow them down. The stun that the bomb provides slows them down to the point of ridiculousness. The swooping animation becomes a lethargic crawl through the air that culminates in an attack that's hit boxes away.

Calibur > Bats. Enter the

Calibur > Bats. Enter the area with a charge attack ready. Unleash your attack when they swoop in. If they survive that then charge up again and repeat. Bats + Calibur = Dead Bats.

I have to agree with everyone

I have to agree with everyone here. Greavers are really only a pain in arenas where you want to kite everything and the greavers try their hardest to stop you.

As long as you hit them once with anything, their attack is interrupted. Swords with large hitboxes like the flourish/snarble line or avenger are great at swatting them away.
