Can anyone help me out with sword choice? I wanted to know which one would help me out in the long run. I understand that Caliber has higher damage but Cutter has higher speed. Is DPS>Damage? Thanks for your input.

Basically you have three

Basically you have three paths to take for swords: Calibur, Cutter, and Sealed. Each one can be made into one of two five star swords. Sealed swords are slow and powerful, Cutter swords are fast, while calibur is somewhere in the middle. If you are looking at damage over time alone, it is cutter > calibur > sealed. With cutter, you can do a huge amount of damage by standing up to them and slashing them. However, this puts yourself in danger as well. Often, monsters will warn you before they attack, and right after they attack, they will be vulnerable for a short moment. In these types of circumstances, slow and powerful swords would be favorable as you can hit and run much more effectively. Another thing you can consider is the charge attacks. Divine Avenger has an amazing charge attack i find, but it's probably the lowest dps of all 5 star swords with normal attacks. At this stage of the game, equip yourself according to your playstyle. Eventually, it will be established that one playstyle is ideal, or it may be ideal to equip 2 swords and switch them, but as of now, everything is equally viable.

Swords

Actually, there are currently 5 "main" sword series.

- Calibur
- Cutter
- Spur
- Troika
- Sealed Sword

The Calibur line is the vanilla sword series, having a 3-hit combo and a spin-attack as the charge, which has great knockback.
The Cutter line is great for DPS, having 10 hits in 5 slashes, the charge attack being a barrage of 5 or 6 strikes with a final lunge.
The Spur line consists of 3-hit combos, lunging with each slash. Winmillion gains the attribute of shooting a short-range disc with each slash. The charge attack is agreed to be pretty pointless, as it's just a slow-moving, short-ranged energy disc, that lacks damage as well.
The Troika line is composed of 2-hit slow swords, "heavy swords." Swings have slightly larger range, and provides nice knockback. The charge attack is a lurch forward, bringing the sword into the ground and causing great knockback.
The Sealed Sword lines are also heavy swords, 2-hits and considerable knockback. It can be upgraded into either of the arguably strongest swords in the game, the Divine Avenger and the Gran Faust.

Depends on alt. weapon

It should become obvious after a few runs what kind of sword you're going to need to back up your alternate weapon choice; I have a calibur right now, but because I am probably gonna go for a freezing bomb in the future, I'm switching over to the cutter line because freezing my enemies in place will give me an ideal window to unleash the cutter's 10-hit combo.

Horses for courses, really.

Options if you're rich

Of course, you can, in time, get multiple types of weapons. I find heavy swords excellent against Skeletons and Slimes, they cannot attack you at all due to the reach and knockback of your weapon unless they really crowd you. However, such a heavy weapon is poor for quicker foes, for example Fiends and Gremlins, who can avoid your attacks easier and even use your clumsiness to your advantage.

OOO, I am disappoint.

Nnnngh, I was hoping there would be 5* versions of the Khorovod and Winmillion by now. I'm disappointed.

Personally I'd go with the Cutter line because I prefer attack speed, but sometimes the lack of knockback and sporadic accuracy gets me whooped. If I were going swords-only, I'd get a Khorovod to cover both slow and fast enemies.

Pie and cake

Meh..just make both. A Vile Striker and a Cold Iron on the same palette never hurt anybody. :D
