Requesting a full installer
Browsing the forums it seems that many people are having issues installing Spiral Knights, the reoccurring theme seems to be the install idling at 0%. I am also experiencing this problem, I am not sure if it is my router or ISP causing the problem but i would like to play the game. A full installer would solve the problem for a lot of people, even if they had to reinstall whenever there was an update i think it would be preferable to not being able to try the game at all.
If you are one of the people with this problem then maybe you can back me up.
I have the very same issue, man, I feel your pain. My internet completely decides to die on my every time I attempt to download it using the client/in-browser thing.
I'd love to see this resolved.
EDIT: I'm not sure if I was clear enough, but
I have the game installed, but upon startup, it wants to Download Data, and that's where the download stops and my internet goes down.
It seems like it would be fairly simple to release a full downloadable installer, lets hope they pay attention to this forum.
A better option might be to find out why the downloader is broken in the first place?
Wow.
It decided to work this time.
Methinks it's just a bit moody, now. Just keep retrying!
The highest it has ever gotten for me was 9% and then it kills. Now it's always 1% or 2% and dead. It's a really big pain in the ass having to start my comp over and over again because of it messing with my comp performance.
I've the same problem. I'm trying in two different computers and both aren't working.
The download stops, or the count stops and don't go ahead.
They should post the full download patcher
Hopefully they'll just add a full installer. This seems to be affecting a lot of people.
if you hit these issues doing the initial install you'll also hit them while patching later since it uses the exact same method, so a full installer won't actually help much
The game is small enough that i would be willing to download a patched installer every time. It is not a real solution but until the installer is fixed it would be a decent workaround.

The fully installed game is ~440MB right now.
Looks like ill have to move on to other games until this issue is resolved in some way.
you can request , you can beg but none will help you with full instaler cause creators of the game even dont read forum , you cant write e-mail to them cause support email dont work so all what we all (all who cant download) can do is just waiting ;/;/;/

I can assure you that the Contact Support function works very well. Also the Dev's are very much reading this forum.

They want an installer that includes everything in the EXE, as opposed to letting Getdown retrieve the game after install. As others have noted, this is not a great solution, because you still won't be able to download the patches when we update the client. So, I am instead working with one of our remote developers who has also experienced this problem in order to figure out what's causing it.

I believe I've found the issue. The fix will go out in the next release.

As a follow-up, if you installed the game using the installer EXE/BIN/DMG (as opposed to the applet), you'll probably have to redownload/reinstall it to fix the issue.
I can install it fine on windows but ubuntu won set it up! .bin file is some sort of iso that when mounted appears empty.

It's an executable:
chmod u+x spiral-install.bin
./spiral-install.bin
I agree... i cant even get to 50% when i have a 1mbps/s connection... this game has a lot of problems
