Battle Tips
Post any tips on Battling in this game! Not only will this help new recruits, but it will also help other players who are horrible battlers (not saying advanced battlers won't learn anything, they can learn a new trick or two).
Just thought I'd say some of the basic stuff:
-Shielding is your friend. Whether it's traversing through brambles (which enemies like to hide in) or guarding bullets from Gun Puppies, shielding is better than nothing. Dodging works, too, but probably better when enemies are throwing moderately slow projectiles.
-Normal, Piercing, Elemental, and Shadow damage have quite a big influence on you and enemies. Get a new arsenal of weapons and gear that will adjust to the stratum you're going to face.
-When there's a mob of monsters chasing after you, don't be afraid to run away! In fact, running away would be better than going hand-to-hand against a swarm of monsters that can murdalize you. When running away, lay bombs in their path or go all hit and run by shooting them with your handgun. If you don't have either bomb nor handgun.... Good luck.
My personal tips:
-The enemies in this game are pretty unique. For example, the Lumber will make a certain sound when one spawns. Lumbers also have a distinct sound that they make when they're attacking. Learn to know your enemies, and you'll know what to expect!
-Travelling in groups would be your best option when traversing dungeons. You'll have back-up, you get more Heat and Crowns (as far as I know, I got a lot of Crowns and Heat when I was in a Party with other players), and you'll have fun working together!
I'm currently working on getting 2-star equipment, so I can get into Tier 2, so my tips may not be that helpful. Feel free to add your own!
i dont play with the sound on lol, and its pretty much easy: elemental gun for lumbers, sometimes mechakights and gun puppies, and either a neutral or specialed sword, depending on the stratum ur in. for example, i usually have this set:
vog cub coat
grey feather cowl
leviathan UV ASI high(made ultra in combo with da vog :D)
gigawatt pulsar
wise owlite shield
sometimes i switch out the levi for a specialized sword, like silent night blade, or dark thorn blade

...use your Calibur or Brandish charge attack.
Welcome to the game! Just don't make 1* items or gear with dead-end upgrades and you'll be fine. :D
To add to your shield tip, sometimes it's better to push the enemies away rather than actually block the attack, especially for powerful hits like lumber smash or mech knight charge attack. This conserves your shield power in case you need it.
When pushing enemies with your shield, using attacks with massive knockback or just plain attacking, try not to push enemies into party members.

Get a Pokemon that can lay down Stealth Rocks and/or Spikes so your opponent has to waste a turn switching in Spin Support/Horribly Dying. It doesn't have to be a lead, sometimes opening with a counter to Stealth Rocks leads and whupping them before they can set-up is more fun.
Always have at least one Sub-strat Pokemon, One Stall Pokemon and One Trololol Pokemon on your team. Don't worry about type weaknesses as much as the effectiveness of their strategies, since it's pretty rare to have a six Pokemon team all weak/neutral to one specific type anyway.
Try and get at least one Pokemon that has unbeatable coverage (Fighting/Dark or Rock/Ground) on their moveset and one that is immune to earthquake on your team. Also, if you're running with a 4x weak to Ice Dragon, get a Pokemon that can resist it so you can switch in and punish. Unless that particular Pokemon has a sub, then you should be fine if the set-up is successful.
The best teams are the ones where you don't need to set-up first, since it's easy to blow away a set-up lead that isn't just dropping Rocks/Spikes. Having individual Pokemon with set-ups is fine, since they usually only get countered by straight up stats.
You can pretty much guarantee that your opponent will have Pokemon weak to Fighting, Ground and Ice on their team in Top Tier battles, they're the most important types of moves to have outside of Uber. So try and get them all with STAB.
Being offensive pays off more than being defensive. If you have a Pokemon you know can 1KO another with it's moves, use it. Don't try and stall out for a 3KO if you can get a 1KO or force a switch.
And lastly...
Mindgames mindgames mindgames.
