I just wanted to make this thread so I can express my point about education. Yes, it is obvious that education is important, but with the people of today, we sometimes take it too far, pressuring the teens and children, like me or others that have been always yelled or pushed too far with school. I love school for I like to learn, in fact, my favorite subject is science, and I love computers; but when parents try to get their kids to go all out in school, we can feel stressed or tired of the constant reminder, when we know what to do and we already try to decide how to do and work in school. Yes, being a parent can be hard, as I see my parents have to work constantly to support the family, but actually with the kids of today, it is mutually the same thing, where some of us try to work our hardest in school.

I'm just trying to say that I express my feelings toward the pressures in life; we always have to hurry and try to keep up with our parent's expectations, but I know we don't only play games for the rest of our childhood, we work too, and I just want to left alone or feel relaxed, instead of the constant reminders. I know my parents care for me, but "tough love" and "striving to be the best" can take a lot out of someone. So in final, I just feel there's another perspective to everything, and I know nobody's perfect, but like Spiral Knights, there's a variety to every aspect in the game, and there's a wide spread of importance in life, besides pushing a person to their limits. I just wanted to say it out since its been bugging me, and I will still work hard, but with a "shield" in my hand. (Please ignore the cheesiness, but that's all I wanted to say)

I've been disparaged by a parent like that before. My classmate's. His mother went, "How could you get a B? You could you lose to HER?" And I was only a few paces away. Marvelous display of tact there, lady! And is that racism I detect too? Her son resented me the entire school year, of course.

I suppose my parents are also like that, but they're not vocal about it. Unlike that lady, they've got finesse. They express their display their displeasure with subtlety. And perhaps also more cruelty. I can thank them for my irrational fear of pianos and Pavlovian hatred for Pachelbel.
