Heya Nick/Devs,
I would like to make a small recommendation, I know I'm not the only player that plays SK that is hearing impaired. I myself am about 90% deaf in my right ear and about 80% in my left. So hearing things for me is extremely difficult to begin with. With this latest update you guys have implemented a chiming sound that plays when certain actions are done in the CK. What my suggestion is, is that there be a visual notice when same said action is done. What I am thinking is in the lower left corner of the screen nothing exist currently, so when in the CK or in future levels where a chime might signify that something special has happened a quick flashing of an exclamation point surrounded by a star burst or something of the sorts can flash maybe 2 or 3 times quickly and then be gone. This wouldn't impede game play for those that can hear and would add a valuable tool for those of us who cannot. Another spot I was thinking would be in the mini-map the circle could display the same ! point with the same 2-3 quick flashes. Either place would work perfectly and since everyone is already used to glancing at the mini-map now and again it wouldn't be to out of the norm for every player.

but maybe in an orangish color or such.

Seems like a reasonable suggestion if it can be toggled.

The blip can play when gates are unlocked after a puzzle or after clearing an area of monsters, for example? (Not "toggled", though, as it could be spammy.)

No reason to prevent hearing-impaired players from full enjoyment of the game. Good idea.
