I've got Leviathan and Magma Driver right now and I'm wondering what would be the best choice for a third weapon, since I have 2 slot upgrades to use. I was thinking about going with Divine Avenger. Thoughts?
Also, if I were to get 2 trinket slots, do 2 Elite Slash Modules stack? I.E, will their Damage Bonus Mediums combine to a Damage Bonus Ultra?
I highly suggest getting one of the piercing swords. They help immensely against the really annoying enemies, like wolvers, devilites, greavers, and trojans. They are also decent against Gremlins, another annoying enemy. Where-as elemental damage is good against constructs and undead, both of which aren't really that difficult to deal with AND you already have a Magma driver.
Though to be honest we could probably help you better if you outlined what helmet, armor, and shield you are using as well.
Guess I'll be getting a Divine Avenger then.
Current equipment:
Weapon 1: Leviathan.
Weapon 2: Magma Driver.
Armor/Helmet: Vog Cub.
Shield: Grey Owlite.
You should get a bomb for your third weapon. You don't have one, and need one in order to be viable in some areas.
If you want a divine avenger, that can be your fourth weapon. But it shouldn't be your third.
Also, why did you upgrade gear to four stars before filling all of your weapon slots? An extra star on your gear isn't nearly as useful as having the option to choose gear that actually fits the content you're doing.
I hate bombs. None of them appeal to me (except Crystal, which far outshines Blast, in my opinion). If I get a third weapon, it's gonna be some kind of sword to take advantage of my armor/modules. I have two Elite Slash modules, and the extra damage they provide my Leviathan is incredible.
And since I plan to run FSC regularly, Divine Avenger is looking good. I don't ever intend to have 4 weapons.
Honestly, the only reason I'm asking is because I bought the starter pack, and it came with 2 weapon slot trinkets. But I honestly haven't found a situation where neither of my weapons, Leviathan and Magma Driver, are both invalidated. What one can't perform well against, the other can.
So really, is it worth spending all that CE just for a third weapon that I may find to be obsolete?
^ like said in the title, you really only need a normal gun and Levi to take care of anything. the 3rd weapon is mostly up for preference and how you will use it.
i personally have 4 weapon slots (moving up from my previous 3, just to test), and i have found that all i need is 3 weapon slots. my loadout is
-DA
-Barb Blade
-Polaris
i personally find the DA to be good in any situation, just like the Levi, and especially over the Levi for certain situations, like giant mobs. I have my Barb blade for pierce damage, and to take out anything fast that my DA's slow strikes wont hit. Polaris is a overall great gun, 'nuff said
to answer your question, i think you SHOULD go with a DA for your 3rd weapon, as it will make you far more versatile in many situations. 3 slots is the sweet spot for the number of weapons that would be effective in a run, in my opinion. Your levi can handle anything faster than chromalisk, in most kases xD
To answer the first question - your weapon choice should be based on what you're going to be facing, and your play style. If you're planning on running the Firestorm Citadel a lot, then absolutely get Divine Avenger. For the Jelly King, you would probably want Gran Faust, Acheron, or Dread Venom Striker, depending on personal preference. I think you get the idea.
For the second question, yes, they do stack. Two Elite Slash Modules will combine to give you a Very High bonus. If you combine that with, say Barbarous Thorn Shield, you would have a damage bonus of Maximum. Keep this in mind when picking out your weapons, as with certain playstyles, you might prefer to get the other two modules instead. Like, say, if you want to spam the charge attack on Divine Avenger or Leviathan Blade, go for two Elite Sword Focus Modules.
