Additional trinket slots make for severely overpowered wealthy players; better to keep them as they are and force players to consider their broadened range of choices more carefully.

It's...a phrase. It's English. It means that those players who have the CE to rent additional trinket slots are at an extremely significant advantage, and, whether in Crowns or actual cash, that means wealthy players. Restricting these slots to "bomb & sword & status effect" is significantly less flexible than the current system, where players who want to, for example, focus on buffing their defense can simply use both slots to that effect. And what about gunners, or pure bombers, or pure sword specialists? They'd be kind of screwed.

The current system forces players to make considered decisions about what trinkets to use by strictly limiting how many are available at a time; at the same time, it's pretty flexible, because there's no restriction on what effects you can combine within those two slots. Broadening the range of available trinkets makes the system more flexible by increasing the number of available buff combinations.

Going back to the OP: a Trinket that increased movement speed might prove pretty popular, all told. Juances is quite right, the Quicksilver line does offset the penalties somewhat, but the actual speed increase isn't all that and might not compensate for the penalties of heavier armour.

Oh....is it. I would never have....(huge pause).....known. You are entitled to that opinion if course but here's a scenario -I'm a pure bomber- I can stack my elite bomb focus modules...& look, cool an additional slot to counter a status. Hmmm...I'm not rich so I will have to invest my time wisely selling materials & gaining crowns so I can afford to use that new slot. Oh better again, I did say status..oh great, I can use my tokens that I have acquired freely to purchase that sizzling hearthstone pendant. Another slot won't damage the game.
