Guild teams vs random teams?

Not a bug but an improvement. It can be frustrating waiting for a guild to play against... why not have the guild face a random team when they are no people in the guild queue?

Or perhaps you could have it so that the game can start 3 vs 3 or 2vs2 instead of 4 vs 4 like similar to how the random team matches start. If guild matches allowed smaller teams, more guilds including smaller ones could participate!

There won't be guild vs

There won't be guild vs random because guild teams are normally far more organized then a random team, you know exactly how good your team mates are. Random on the other hand is a pug. Pitting them against each other would be extremely unfair for the random team.

Use FSC as an example. A guild team can kill Vana almost every time because you all know your roles and what you're doing. A pug is random, and you have no idea how good the people are, what their equipment is (not an issue in blast network, but it helps with the point), and you have no idea if the team will be able to kill Vana. One is organized, the other is herp derp I hope this works

Those are good points, but

Those are good points, but I'm not sure it's that easy a decision...

Guilds in less populated timezones are at a big disadvantage:
Because well, most of the time we wait at least ten minutes for a match. And often enough there aren't any opponents for hours.

Guild vs. Guild very often is unfair, too, if there aren't enough guild teams around:
We keep meeting the same teams. Often enough that means, someone keeps defeating or loosing against the same team until one of them get too frustrated and stops playing.

"Ping" already is unfair enough:
Sometimes the random teams that I meed are a lot harder than most of the guild teams. We rarely meet "lowpinger" guild teams from other timeszones, but often enough there's single players. Those might have to resort to playing random team due to not enough of their guild members are playing and some maybe enjoy how everyone else seems to have strange movement impediments when they force them into close combat. So every once in a while, there might just be a really nasty surprise for the guild team, too.

Also: Most of the time, when there's exactly one guild team waiting, there are at least 3-4 random teams. And the players keep changing, too... so it's not like random teams had to fight guild teams all the time. Maybe it'd even be possible to pick the 4 random players with the highest scores to put them up against the guild team? That'd sort of even it out for the remaining random players, too, because it gets them a better chance for an easier opponent at times where they *might* have to play against guild teams.

So... while I'm aware, that most of the time random teams are at a disadvantage, maybe it'd be worth a try to SOMETIMES set guild teams up against random teams after a delay IF there's less than 4 guild teams around. A feature like this *might* even make itself redundant: Giving people easier access to GvG could encourage them to play more GvG. At the moment, noone seems to really bother because "even if we get a team of 4 together, there won't be a opponent".

How about the second

How about the second suggestion where guild teams work in the same way that random teams do, so if there arent enough players for a 4 vs 4, it will try a 3 vs 3, or 2 vs 2?

There don't seem to be any

There don't seem to be any guild teams in our time zone any more. At all. They don't find opponents. And if there happen to be 2 teams around, then the weaker team gets beaten twice and stops playing because at that point they know: they can only loose, there are no teams around that they can beat. My guess would be: not enough people play GvG, because not enough people play GvG. I think it'd be a really good idea to allow random teams (and different team sizes too), to break that cycle. It might just work, and if more guild start playing because of this, then random teams won't have to face guild teams often.

Bump, still no other teams in

Bump,
still no other teams in GvG, it's really getting a pain lately and is frustrating.

I don't care if we take the 4 vs 4 ect idea or the random vs guild idea. We need someting to break this annoying hindurance.

hmmm

It'd be rather nice if there was an option in the guild thing to "fight with a guild", or something like that, just to get a wider attendance, and allow guilds who only have 4 members on to fight. Other than that, guild v guild would also be improved if it offered a higher payout or something- just an incentive to go do it rather than fight with random teams that for the most part lose at random due to player count, and how many snarble barb like players thre are.

Noone in our Guild seems to

Noone in our Guild seems to even bother any more trying to make a team - haven't seen one for a week. Looks like even if we managed to get a guild team together despite most of us being tired of waiting, there won't be an opponent anyway... so I can't really blame anyone who won't even try.

Ufana
We still have enough players

We still have enough players that theoretically would love to play GvG (and that play random) if it weren't for the waiting, the guild rank (not being displayed) shows clearly that noone managed to get a single game going during this week. And the top10 show, that other guild seem to have the same problem: It wouldn't take long to get into the top list, if it would be actually possible to PLAY!

They could solve this

They could solve this slightly by adding a way to schedule matches between 2 specific guilds. Being able to create a match with an ID you can give to the other guild to join would help with organizing.

Its jsut frustrating. 5

Its jsut frustrating.

5 waiting.
Doesn't take long for our team to fill up after we saw that it looks like one is almost full.
11 waiting.
16 waiting.
20 waiting.
24 waiting.
12 waiting, 12 playing, not us.
16 waiting, 12 playing, not us.
15 waiting,12 playing, not us.
25 waiting, 0 playing.
17 waiting, 12 playing. Still we haven't played yet.
12 waiting, 12 playing, without us.
9 waiting a very long long long time, 0 playing. 3 of our 6 players quit the guild team, the other 3 are afk.

If you can't introduce ways to enable guild teams to actually play, at least improve how it's displayed. Split it into T1-T3 so we know how to dress up and whether it even makes sense to keep waiting.

( This is "not offtopic". This me being about to give up believing that there will ever be a real solution like e.g. the one presented in this thread, will be introduced no matter what players suggest :P. If you're annoyed by the lack of possibility to play guild lockdown, please find your favourite solution/suggestion - there were many around - and reply there. Thx. )

The 12 playing were likely on

The 12 playing were likely on the US server. Your team was probably designated as a EU team so you cant play the US server teams.

Ufana
That is entirely possible

That is entirely possible too. Or maybe two guild planned a "private" T1/T2 match... there's no way to know, we would have to try making up to 6 Teams (T1-T3, EU & US server) and wait for 5 Minutes with each one. Anyway...:

I'm tired of forming guild teams and standing around over and over again just to see that nothing happens. Wait... I've been tired of that before. Guess now I'm tired of being tired of it. Every once in a while, we try again because someone sees teams playing or because someone really wants to play guild lockdown for the first time after joining our guild. But we always just end up standing around until everyone's sick of waiting.

So let us play against random teams already, pretty please. One guild team in between many random teams can't be that bad - and if there's more than one guild team: no need to feed random teams to them.
